    Funny how for a referee so eager to help NSW he disallowed two tries, one of which in particular could have easily been let go - and that was the one he himself called no try immediately. Usually the method of assisting a team is to HELP them score points when they have the chance

    The shoulder charge in itself can get a player binned. If there’s a head clash caused by it, that guarantees it. Then it just becomes a matter of whether they think it is worthy of a send off or not.

    One more and he jointly holds the record for Blues players. You’d assume he will get it at some stage barring an early retirement to England or Rugby Union. Beyond that it’s only Smith, Thurston and Lewis that have won more.

    I hate the rule, I really do. And I reckon 75 per cent of the time it’s a try. That was a fairly clear one to me. He hit him right in the chest and Grant didn’t milk it, and Strange was held up in the tackle long enough that he could have gotten there
