    My favorite part of his answer to why he’s qualified for the job was that he watches footy and catches up with Brendan McCartney once a month for a coffee to chat player development.

    Hird saying he wants to be part of the process means that no actually competent coach will want to participate because they know it’s a stupid dog. Spectacular.

    The most spectacular thing is that by Hird declaring he wants to be part of the “thorough” process to find a new coach, actually competent candidates like Longmire and Simpson, who both actually have a brain, will realise there’s zero point that they participate in this dog and pony show.
