    Great post, exactly my point from earlier in the thread too. They want higher scores yet reduced game time? It would be utter embarrassment to the brand of the AFL if they allowed it beyond this year.

    If this is the best reason to continue 16 minute quarters then I feel my point is vindicated. All teams will be under the same rules and regulations regardless. I understand why they put in the 16 minute quarters for round 1, however those reasons have now diluted in the current predicament...

    Interesting. If they are aiming for an October 31st GF, then they can play it round by round, week by week if they begin on June 11th.
