That was exactly my point. Wanganeen and Buckley WERE champion players. Evans Hodges and Abber were just good solid players ( must admit I can't remember watching Evans at Geelong), who dominated at sanfl level.

I've been going to games at the Gabba for over 30 years and that was the loudest and angriest crowd I've ever seen on Thursday night. Never seen Brisbane supporters so bitter and pissed off. Heaps of Collingwood supporters wearing premiership guernseys. As Willard Scott would say, How sweet it is!
