Can anyone remember the last time we drafted a small forward in the first round and he debuted in Round 1? How did his career turn out?

Don’t you dare defend him. It is completely understandable if he wants to be completely self absorbed and not consider the interests of those that have looked after him since he entered the AFL ranks. Remember, he has a young family to consider.
So let me get this straight:
I shouldn’t get my hopes up that we might draft Calsher Dear with a late pick in a shallow draft.
But it is reasonable to think we might land Bailey Smith this year (even though he has emphatically stated he is going nowhere) while holding on to pick 3.
