Preview Round 7, 2026: West Coast vs St Kilda

Only one of them won a flag at their new team - I'll take that.

Preview Round 7, 2026: West Coast vs St Kilda

I don't watch St Kilda games unless we play them but their team is the very definition of average. Midfield is OK - solid with no stars. Their KPD are arguably as bad as ours and so are their HB. Forward line is very bland without King. If both teams crack in then this could be a close one! We...

Autopsy Round 6, 2026: Positives and Negatives vs Fremantle

This articulates really well what I felt at the game. We were playing very well in terms of field position and pressure, but our scoring and turnovers on transition were awful! I agree that what we're seeing is very exciting! I'm sure we'll improve over the year and that's when we'll suddenly...

Media Thread 2026: Insightful, Inciteful and Incomptent

This forum is much more informative than anything the media puts out. I found out about big footy when I read a news article referencing it as a source in regards to a trade. Here I am 13 years later.

Yeah, that's a good point on recruiting. We've been much better this time around with the MSD and SSP in particular

Media Thread 2026: Insightful, Inciteful and Incomptent

The reality with list builds is that when clubs are successful they don't have room in their team for speculative young talent development. Once their stars start aging out, then the build begins. Ross wasn't really any different from anyone else when he was at the top, but he did cling onto...

List Mgmt. Welcome Harley Reid (Pick 1, 2023 National Draft) Part 2

Hits the 50 game milestone soon. If Duursma follows the same trend, we should have a scary midfield by 2028 (his third season and Harley closing in on 100 games). Add Warner to that, our KPF develop as projected, and we're a very scary team (provided we find another decent KPD).

Expectations for 2026 (Now discussing: Our next two months)

They tried this at the start of last year and abandoned it quickly. I'm not sure why - he just looked lost around the ball.

Expectations for 2026 (Now discussing: Our next two months)

If he can't perform in defence then he's put of the team. We're not obligated to play him and we need actual forwards/HFF to develop. That said, I'd consider Cole at HFF as he has shown ability there in the past. But he's behind Maric (who started his career there).

    Oppo Camp Non-Eagles Discussion 2026

I find that very encouraging for us. Had the hardest start of any team and still went 2-4. Were only blown away once and arguably lost the Freo game from our mistakes (rather than Freo smashing us). Glass half full says we've been given a football lesson on the standard to be top 4. Hopefully...

Prediction Round 7, 2026: Changes vs St Kilda

Baker did it on Brayshaw and absolutely smashed him.

Prediction Round 7, 2026: Changes vs St Kilda

Nah, watching live you can see he just doesnt have the closing speed anymore. Sits off an opponent to zone (fair enough) but can't make up the distance when he needs to pick up a man and contest. He knows he's stuffing up too and it can't be fun. Unfortunately, I think he's cooked.

Expectations for 2026 (Now discussing: Our next two months)

We've played 5 of the current top 6 and 4 of them will likely still be there at the end of the year! I really hope the team knuckles down and is competitive over this next 10 game stretch. No reason we shouldn't be aiming to go 50/50 - 5 wins 5 losses.

Prediction Round 7, 2026: Changes vs St Kilda

I was a big long fan after his first season but he never got back to those standards. After two serious knee injuries I think he gets delisted (body just couldn't handle it).

Autopsy Round 6, 2026: Positives and Negatives vs Fremantle

Waterman's left shoulder/collarbone got crunched in rnd 2 against North and he's still ginger. He should have shit mixed the Freo bloke with a massive bump but had to pull out because he can't have contact. Was very frustrating to see, but he's going to be like that all season.
