Mega Thread General MFC Discussion IV – Guerra sacked, Brian Cook interim, TBA interim for the interim, Dan Taylor next CEO. Who will upholster the chairs?

The big difference is the Hawks played 3-4 games a season down in tassie, i heard Isaac Smith talk about how they would have training camps down there and get use to the conditions, create routines etc. We play one token game there and fly in and fly out like an away game. For me getting rid...

Player Watch #28: Brody Mihocek – fractured neck from KB tackle. Surgery successful, but not expected to play again this year

It would be graded as severe impact, so very simply yes. I say he gets 3 weeks and then he gets off on appeal.

Mate you are on the Melbourne, Kossie could of cut Maynard's leg off with a chainsaw and we would say no suspension. Not sure why you are asking us whether he should be suspended or not.

Things won't get easier for Latrelle, given we aren't as run and gun as we were the first 7 rounds there is a lot more aerial contests and CP/ground balls to be won inside our forward half, this is where he will need to improve to have impact on the game.

Player Watch #37: Kade "The People's Chin" Chandler – in until at least 2031

My son was in the half time game so I only saw 60 mins of the game, most of that being the last 40 mins. But i thought chandlers last quarter was amazing. Tough, hard running, clever and skilful. The later two are things a lot of dees players aren’t blessed with. It’s been great to see him...

Kossie doesn’t give himself enough room on the mark with the left foot snaps. Needs more space to give him the ability to get more power in the kick.

I rewatched the last 5 mins. The small things that add up to big moments Jack Steele loose ball get with 3 pies bearing down on him and kolts composure to lace out bowser Sparrow getting a hand on the pies player to slow him down, backwards handball to Daicos and Langford pounced with the...

I know it looks shit if we rested Gawn and still lose last week but it boggles the mind he has a sore shoulder, we have a more than capable replacement in Heath and fly Gawn 3 hours one way on plane to get his sore shoulder driven into a turf wicket.

Player Watch #2: Jacob van Rooyen – re-signed until 2029

Thanks. Only saw bits and pieces. But he competes regardless, that is the minimum you want from your players.

I only saw half the game. 12 touches 1.2 7 marks (second most for us) He also laid a tackle on degoey to cause the turnover that lead to kossies goal He works hard and competes. Bigger possession games and goals will come on the back of his hard work.

Game Day Round 13 vs Collingwood @ MCG – Monday 8 June 2026, 3:15 pm AEST (Big Freeze 12) ❄️

The Gawn/heath duo has its place, the couple of weeks before heath was dropped its effectiveness was wearing off. Gawns impact on the game was reducing, heath had to do running after the hawks game and his game time vs the dogs was the lowest for a non injured / non sub player in years. This...

Game Day Round 13 vs Collingwood @ MCG – Monday 8 June 2026, 3:15 pm AEST (Big Freeze 12) ❄️

Petty for mine is jamming the square peg in the round hole, trying to make him fit into the side. He has played back/forward/ back up ruck. if he isn’t fulfilling a specific role and doing it well, the he shouldn’t be in the 23.

Player Watch #11: Max Gawn (C) – 8x All-Australian, 3x Best & Fairest, AFLCA Champion Player and Premiership Captain 🐐

Gawn plays his best footy when he is the main man, no coincidence his form has slid since heath came into the side. But i know we need to start planning with footy life after Gawn and he can't play 90% game time for 23 weeks. And even during those games were both played at times it looked good...

Need a big game from the skipper. No one negates Max Gawn like our back up ruck (heath has his place at times, but if we go Gawn one out the main issue is the back up with Petty and JVR - not great options) He didn't take a mark against the lions, was poor against WCE. Massive second half...
