Player Watch #33: Latrelle Pickett – Pick 12

Both N Reiwoldt and Matty Lloyd mentioned on their shows to get the one handed stuff out of his game, they didn't go hard at him but just said he needs to be better.

Player Watch #33: Latrelle Pickett – Pick 12

Far be it for me to sound like an old man yelling at the clouds, but the one handed stuff doesn't look great, it sticks out when he tries to take the ball one handed and fumbles. It feels like he is playing with less freedom, i hardly feel like he is being over coached but maybe the more games...

Review Dees v Hawks and some unkillable Ghosts: the Good, the Bad and the Fugly

After a so so game last against the eagles, Gawns 40 mins after halftime time was just a big dog letting everyone know he is still the big dog!

Review Dees v Hawks and some unkillable Ghosts: the Good, the Bad and the Fugly

Highlight of the game for me 3rd quarter just after Fritta’s goal on the boundary Sparrow, starts in the CB. We win the clearance, he traces the ball inside 50m. It spills out amongst two hawks. Sparrow squeezes himself, wills himself between two hawks, squeezes out a handball to Laurie...

A lot to like. But loved seeing Jeffo and Laurie play their best games and look like they belong at AFL level.

Mega Thread General MFC Discussion IV – Guerra sacked, Brian Cook interim, TBA interim for the interim, Dan Taylor next CEO. Who will upholster the chairs?

We seem to be rating our socks off during the Sunday 3:15 game, so the AFL will give us a few more games in that slot. Similar to the Pies in 2022, Hawks in 2024.

Review Dees v Eagles in Mothers' Day Blockbuster - the Good, Bad and Fugly

He had a very good first half, but dropped off in the second half. Lever spent time on Waterman too, and he (lever) didn't have a great game either. Waterman always gets a hold of us, or feels that way.

Review Dees v Eagles in Mothers' Day Blockbuster - the Good, Bad and Fugly

Watching the game from ground level (normally i'm up in the top level of the MCG). Steele does some great work at the contest, no hot potato handball he takes steps from the contest, often gets around 1 player, draws the next and allows the foot speed around him to get out. Chandler really...

Review Dees v Eagles in Mothers' Day Blockbuster - the Good, Bad and Fugly

Team is bigger than the individual. Smart coaching from King, we aren't resting Gawn from a game entirely so we are effectively managing his time in the ruck during the game, but he is there if we need him to play more ruck minutes. We need him ready fresher with some big games over the next 6...

Player Watch #2: Jacob van Rooyen – re-signed until 2029

I was at the game and sat at ground level, usually at the MCG i am sitting top row so it gives you a different perspective of the game. Roey cracks right in, he has gone from kid trying to compete to someone who can physically compete, yes there will be games like Brisbane were has an...

Yeah 4 x 5.5km laps, probably the trade off from smaller/local runs....this one is flat so could lend itself to a quick run (spring winds pending)

I have definitely started looking at smaller local runs. I might do the Berwick half marathon, $70 entry and 50 mins from home. They might only have a 150 runners all up.

    Running/Fitness The Running Thread

Motivation is very low right now given my race was postponed until 2027, the last 3 weeks i've been reducing weekly volume down from 100km to mid 60's. From there i will come up with a new weekly program and maybe build to half marathon in 3-4 months time.

Review Dees v the Bloods and the Ghosts of Laurie Nash and Bob Pratt: Good, the Bad and thr Fugly

Fair call on lever, tuner gave up more goals seemed to be on Amarty most of the game. The free and 50m he gave away was pretty ordinary too.

Review Dees v the Bloods and the Ghosts of Laurie Nash and Bob Pratt: Good, the Bad and thr Fugly

I am taking the glass half full approach on this game. King tried something, protect the corridor give Sydney the wings and flanks. He really encouraged us to run at the ball carrier, Sydney were just really good with their ball control and skill. I loved even when we where 6 goals down in...
