    We’re side tracking from the thread, but there was the Downgrade from pick 1 as well because of the verbal agreement with GWS they’d still get their player. And Port were near the top of the ladder, what did that first rounder end up as, pick 20? Not enough there for the new rules. But we’ll see...

    Pick 8 really, you can’t ignore Rioli as he was the difference between the first and second round pick swap. in any event, can see this happening far more in future years. Or more Archie Perkins who flat out refuse to leave and gets his wish.

    That’s the point. (I’m assuming you agree with me). Will be cheaper to tempt a player home after a year than pay through the nose in the draft. It also cost JHF 2 years of booing at the hands of the fans and the David King type media.
