Is this a long winded way of saying Zac Bailey?

We’d be 3rd if we converted close ones this year the way we once did under Fly. Add either of those two last night in anny of those close losses and we win. I acknowledge that you’re currently a doomer, but the reality is far more positive than your current outlook. Would Hewett the “plodder”...

It’s type and service. Kennedy, Bont, Sanders and Freijah are stoppage guns as good or better than any of our stoppage players. They then had English providing them silver service because he could jump over a shorter DC. We have a weak midfield that isn’t getting service which is leading to...

Unofficial Preview Changes & Pre-match Discussion: Round 13 vs. Melbourne, Mon 08/06 at 3:15pm (MCG)

Yeah I’m conscious of that one, but writing Sidebottom after 15 years of referring to him as Steele is a pain so I find explaining it’s him is easier. I fear your right, but I wouldn’t be surprised if there was some flatness amongst the group following last week (Q, Beau and Josh for instance...

That is some warped logic right there! Swadling won’t play a minute around the contest if he comes in and if he does he’ll be a net negative because he’s not ready to go inside at VFL level let alone AFL. If he comes in it’ll be a flank role to release Jaicos or McCreery.

Unofficial Preview Changes & Pre-match Discussion: Round 13 vs. Melbourne, Mon 08/06 at 3:15pm (MCG)

I was kind of watching the VFL and I’m not convinced by the seemingly unanimous calls for Swadling. If we’re talking setting him up to succeed I don’t think he’s in the picture. He was quiet, called for it in the wrong spots and made some poor decisions. I’m not going to complain if he plays...

Game Day Match Discussion: Round 12 vs. Bulldogs, Sat 30/05 at 7:35pm (Marvel)

I watch Fly’s pressers each week and I expect he’ll spend time forward ala v Sydney, but will predominantly play through the middle because as Fly pointed out using him forward is so that he isn’t off the ground (the lack of a Q on Hill was disappointing). He had 5 SOG v WC and all were from...

Game Day Match Discussion: Round 12 vs. Bulldogs, Sat 30/05 at 7:35pm (Marvel)

I agree with that in a certain sense. Long will get to more contests and win more ground level contests than West. I disagree v Buller. I have the slows on Buller, but he’s a better mark, has better forward craft, gets to better spots and converts better. Long has him for work rate, but what...

I think the real topic of discussion is nothing to do with a race, but rather what price the Dees will need to pay to acquire him. Of the chasing clubs they have the most cap space, the best trade capital and they have Stephen King. If/ when he leaves it’ll be the Dees.

Game Day Match Discussion: Round 12 vs. Bulldogs, Sat 30/05 at 7:35pm (Marvel)

I think many were looking at it purely in terms of output rather than game style. He played AFL football whilst the majority of them were playing VFL football. It’s not conducive to high numbers. Take Buller while I was watching he was practically anchored to the F50 and beating his opponents...

Totally on board with him making way for Membrey. Me though I can’t continue to cop the selection of Long when Anderson and Pendles are in the side. He’s a terrible forward there’s no two ways about it and it harks back to 2017 when we had a cooked Mayne in the forward half (it took the role...

    Training Training updates 2026.

You weren’t around (at least in your current form) during the worst of the Buckley days between 2014-2017 when we were stuck in this doom spiral of start the season strong then drop off and miss the 8. It was basically the Shaw era 2.0 except we were a powerful club. The incessant and somewhat...

    Training Training updates 2026.

I think they’ll push a wildcard spot late into the year if they can pinch one or two on the road. I was going to suggest as well that Ginbey is probably ahead of Scarlett at the same age and is a fair shot at an AA squad birth this year.

    2026 Trade / FA Thread

I think it’s timely to revisit our discussion on page 98 around the availability of low cost rucks. We now get to test it out with Coe. Me I’d be surprised if he can’t match Steene’s output not because I necessarily think he’ll be a player, but more that Steene’s output was relatively meh. The...
