Preview Round 7: Bloods vs Hawthorn 4pm Sunday @ the MCG

I am guessing Campbell will be in the 22. He only got a few minutes last week so might want to give him a full game. Maybe they will have Roberts sub to keep him fresh for a long season. On the MCG I feel they will want Wick's forward pressure and Fox's ability to scramble when the ball hits...

Good for the younger players development to play a tight contest under pressure than a blowout either way.

    Player Watch #36 Joel Amartey

He has got the body type and strength to be able to shift his opponent out of his space when taking a contested mark. I have regularly seen him do it. He is that awkward size where he is hard to spoil from behind and he can also shrug his opponent off to create space in front of himself.

    Player Watch #36 Joel Amartey

I think Amartey is a useful player and offers something different. McLean is bigger, aggressive, less mobile but can take a contested mark in a pack of players. Logan has more running ability and can make smarter leads. Amartey can be a tricky player to match up on. He has got that Hawkins...

AFL Looking At 3 Gather Rounds

If they are doing this just to be inclusive of all 19 teams. Why don't they get one of the Adelaide teams to play two games during the round? They can play Wednesday night and play the final game of the round against Tasmania on Monday night. They are getting home ground advantage which means...

Opinion Posts That Don't Deserve a Thread (Random Opinion or Questions)

But it was always going to happen. Opposition coaches are going to set up to negate our strengths and the way we play. It happened in 2021 when we started the season with some open attacking football and had some good wins against top teams. Then opposition teams adjusted against us and we...

    Past #3 Dylan Stephens

In his last season, I thought it was worth trying Stephens as a high half forward. He would be able to do a lot of defensive running and maybe play a bit more instinctively at the contest when he supports the midfield. And then in attack try to get into space. Though I think he played there at...

Preview R4 Sydney vs West Coast "Gather Round"

I think it takes a while for most young players to adjust to the speed and intensity of AFL matches. And they need that exposure, even if it means they won't have much impact in their early games. I think that would still be the case for Corey Warner as well.

Preview R4 Sydney vs West Coast "Gather Round"

Hayward kicked 3 goals in the previous game. I feel they would take that into account. Also I think they would want Hayward as a medium forward marking target, so they can use Heeney in midfield.

    Past #3 Dylan Stephens

I thought it would be a good move for him. If he stayed Stephens could have been a 5th year player in the reserves waiting for an opportunity behind Gulden, McInerney and Campbell. So better to take a 4 year contract at North and have a good chance of playing 23 games of AFL each season.

Also backending and frontending other players contracts might have an effect on who is in the top 25%.
