They look good enough I agree, but Darling realistically should be gone within the next 18 months and Larkey is not young. We need a KPF developing either way so if not Whitlock we need another or a mature recruit.
Agree. I'm all for having less umpires and better ones, but the AFL needs to stop making their job harder week on week, year on year. Umpires should be guys that grew up watching footy and the rules are largely the same as they were 20+ years ago when they were a child. That's how you get...
No prior opportunity. The guy almost had the quarter time break to decide what to do with it. Umpiring is a joke. A week or so ago Luke McDonald looked at the ball for 0.3 of a second before being tackled and was penalised. What are the AFL even doing? Just a joke of an organisation.
The problem with asking players to play another role is that they have to have the skillset. I'm not sure Tom does outside of probably the flushest 35m+ curling snap for goal in the game. Putting players in roles they aren't suited to keep them getting games is a very precarious position.
There is no problem with every player in the backline. I don't think Lmac, Corr, Logue, Pink, Zurhaar (now) are all problems. I do think they all together are though. We are 1 change there from being a bit more dangerous, 2 good changes from being a serious team to be feared.
BTW giantroo...
This is a cool idea for a thread. No surprises as to the winner. X was I thought imposing yesterday. Does he win you every game? Nope, other players need to come along for the ride. But does he make every opponent dread facing us - I suspect so.
They don’t care more about social issues. They care about money and the bulk of their funding (outside gambling / tv) comes from Gov largesse and corporate sponsorship. They care about - or want to appear to - social issues due to those last two items.
