    I do wonder if that might be the choice of David, I reckon part of the reason we have such goodwill towards him is that he hasn't had to make calls in big games. He wouldn't be umpiring for the money and might want to avoid the controversy/high emotions around finals.

    on rewatch Dangerfield was pretty immense, either at the bottom of a pack scrubbing out a handball or getting a hand in to spoil. It wasn't flashy but a complete captain's job going harder at it than any around him.
