Reminds me of Alex Davies last year though.
Textbook good technique that resulted in concussion from the opposing player going in with bad technique and still ended up with 3 weeks.
A shame too. Fiorini has been excellent the last 6+ weeks since he came back in
Everyone needs to settle a bit and keep in mind we’ve played 2 games less than GWS, Brisbane and Geelong and 1 game behind everyone else.
We win 1 of those games, we’re back in 5th, we win both we’re probably in 3rd or 4th.
Should have won yes but there’s still a lot of games left.
It was Lemmens and I stg if I have to see him ball-watch and let his opponent double back into space and get a cheap uncontested mark again I'm turning off the game.
Okay so I went to the game and my major takeaway is that I never want to see Lemmens in the team ever again.
Literally all he needed to do was follow Stengle and stop him getting cheap uncontested marks in the forward line and couldn't do it.
Didn't impact the contest anywhere, didn't follow...
To someone who watches a lot of Port game but not all of them, can you guys explain why Logan Evans is getting dropped so regularly this season?
Observationally, every time I've seen him play he has been great and I figured with him being so young he would have a pretty free run at it this season.
Agree, but his talent is undeniable.
I'd consider taking him on 1 year contracts with behaviour clauses but I imagine that would be enough to scare him off coming in the first place.
That's the point though, they need these so that they don't fall into the same hole that we did when we were entered into the competition.
If those players are lured there then so be it. I would hope the culture is strong enough to keep them up on the coast and the lifestyle/weather are enough...
I actually think this is the right call. They need an open draft to build a team capable of competing in years to come. It doesn’t mean we can’t pitch to those kids to come home in a few years the same victorians do every season as well.
As the team that got a bit shafted in the way we got set...
All credit to Craig Cameron, I actually didn't realise how well he'd nailed his draft selections since he took over in 2018.
ignoring academy players of the last few years, because they were always coming to us

But the point remains re. development
Phillipou averged 13 touches and kicked 13.8 in his first season
2nd season he averaged 14 and kicked 8.8 but only managed 13 games through form and injury
3rd season he missed 2 months through injury to start the year.
It may be premature but it's still a...
Phillipou started strongly and has been quite injury prone the last 2 years now though.
Wilson started very strong last year and has been average this year.
Collard is averaging 5 disposals and has kicked 1 goal over the previous 6 games.
I'm not writing them off, but history at St Kilda and...
St Kilda's problem has been development more than anything.
They've had a stack of super promising players, and few if any ever seem to kick on. On their current list of good players who actually developed under St Kilda, they have; Jack Sinclair, Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera and Rowan Marshall...
You and Ross can complain about the handouts the Suns have had all you want;
in the 120+ years you were in the competition before they existed you won a single flag and 27 wooden spoons.
The Suns getting 'handouts' has nothing to do with St. Kilda's permanence on the bottom of the ladder.
