Brisbane's midfield is better than ours. AFL games are won and lost won the midfield - that was the game. Sure in the QF we nullified their midfield (plus they lost Neale within that game) but it only worked once.
Lose the clearances and stoppages and you will lose the game.
watch the replay - there was two of them on either side of the contest and neither of them called it. Guess it may have been not quite over the line before it was controlled.

Aah yes the cheat ground argument. Question for you....if Geelong were to play Hawthorn in Geelongs home final....whose home ground would we have to play on?

Couldn't agree more with this statement. Geelong Football club effectively put up the middle finger to the face of the AFL for consecutive 6 day breaks, Collingwood's (and others) ridiculous MCG advantages and equalization and proved that heart and teamwork can overcome the odds. Fantastic...
ok granted there is always hope. But this isn't 2022, we don't have a strong midfield and yeah sure when we can move the ball easily with no opposition we can score heavily but the saints just showed us how a bit of pressure will bring us unstuck and very rapidly.

There's no bigger "if" than that. I give us no hope against Port - even if played in Melbourne but I think we have a better than average shot against Brisbane in Melbourne the week after, I'd rather face them than Bulldogs or Hawthorn.
