    I think you're underestimating what NWM did as a mid last year - to me it was similar to when Nick moved into the midfield in 2023. Good clearance numbers too. Too small a sample size though. It'll be interesting to watch when he starts copping a defensive focus at stoppage.

    I'm absolutely serious. The top inside mids get 50%+ more clearances a game than Dawson. Dawson is an absolute star, but he's not an inside mid. The bloke impacts in a heap of ways, but winning the ball at stoppage isn't a significant part of his game.

    Star. Gradual build, who as a mid is still not a stoppage gun. He's just not a big first possession clearance winner and at 28 probably never will be. Not a great example. Try again.

    No I haven't. I haven't seen an outstanding outside runner immediately become a top first possession clearance winner when switched to that role. I'd be curious to hear some examples.

    ITs not really patience for me, as I haven't been keen since his first year. My question is what's he good at? Ball use is below par, contest work is below. A bit slow to react. He's tall and he can run, but does he have any football strengths?
