Pope averages almost 60 in the County Championship. Domestic dominance doesn't always lead to Test dominance.

On the flipside, Stokes has taken 15 wickets at an average of 20 compared to 4 at an average of 60 for Green.

I 100% understand what the selectors see in Green and I always have. I was lucky enough to see his brilliant innings in Wellington in 2024 live and thought he was on the precipice of emerging as the best player in Australia, perhaps even the world. Since then he's averaged 22.28 from 18...

We wasted 90% of it on that Brown century in the semi just for the campaigner to leave.

Huss suggesting Heat should be aiming for 150+ from here. Ambitious.

Hmm the surge wasn't activated by a kid as per usual. Does that mean it's invalid and we can call for it again?

Oh I know and agree, I'm just taking the piss out of Coffs.

Don't try to suggest this is an impressive crowd Fox. Anyone that's actually spent any time af Coffs would know that there's nothing better to do there on a Monday night (or any night for that matter).

Agreed, but fair chance the Heat are making it look more difficult than it is. Can't seem to bat anywhere that isn't the Gabba.

Well, at least these two can bat with confidence knowing they have the great Hugh Weibgen to come. And 2 of our best batters in Bartlett and Kuhnemann.

Munro dropped for Hearne. It's the right call to drop Munro, but Weibgen is pretty lucky. Even when he was our second highest scorer against the Strikers, he still looked pretty ordinary. Couldn't buy s run on the off side. Heat look set to have a pretty good XI once their internationals...

I'd be tempted to give McSweeney a go at 3. But I think it's more likely that with Khawaja retiring and neither Inglis or Weatherald looking any good this series that we persist with him until we're closer to a more set XI. Lots of time and Shield cricket before the next Test anyway.

BBL BBL Match 20 Brisbane Heat v Melbourne Stars 2/1 1845hrs @ the Gabba

He's too well known for the Heat. We prefer our Ross Whiteley and Paul Walter types. If the average punter isn't asking "who the **** is that?" after we announce we've signed them, something has gone terribly wrong.

I wouldn't go that far. It's still not the best squad in the BBL with those players added to it IMO. They've presumably got an international player to add to replace Afridi too. Curious to see which Pom that nobody's heard of they go for this time. Whiteley was a personal favourite of mine...

He has finally been dropped much to my displeasure as a Heat fan. Harvey keeping.
