I'm amazed at how many people care about the front cover of the game, or the logo, or the name, let alone expecting it to have features like FIFA.
I couldn't care less what features, modes or look it has, I just want an AFL game with a realistic, enjoyable and long-term playable game engine...
All it needs is a couple of bug fixes - bit better AI, stop the automatic draw a player in, fix up the protected zones that make it impossibly easy to play on, make bumping less ridiculous and you're probably there with a fantastic AFL game.
I'd certainly pay for a new patch for AFL Live 1.
Patch released today - curious to hear if it makes it more playable.

We'd be selling extremely low considering how good Trav was in 2011. Don't know what kind of pick he'd attract, I'm guessing it would correspond to his last 2 years rather than his best footy. I'd prefer a swap for a player (Giles @ GWS maybe?)
Would have to think we are making a play for...
If we're all starting threads about Geelong's older brigade fading out last night let's talk about someone who's in the prime of his career.
If there's a best key defender in the comp on the best key forward this year it was last night. The Coleman Medallist was held to one mark for one behind...
Unless the umpire called time or Cyril had to collect the ball from away from the line of the mark yes he is allowed to pick the ball up and play on. He picked the ball up from where he had marked it so he didn't go off the mark. It was Cyril's understandable mistake, not the umpire's. He could...
Thread started in 2011 and Travis was pivotal to winning a flag in 2011 with 3 Grand Final goals. Injuries have wrecked his confidence. I'm disappointed in his performances this year but it's hard to criticise someone who has spent a year and a half on the sidelines in the last 2 years for...
He has, in the VFL, at least 4 or 5 years ago, whereas Pods has played in the backline in the AFL this year. Again, I think I'd prefer the latter. The Hawks will barring injury almost certainly sub a ruckman off in the second half for run so if Pods holds it down for 2 and a half quarters we...
If Rivers isn't playing our options are Mackie plays on a ruckman, Blicavs or West play in defence or Pods goes back (with Vardy or Kersten at CHF - if it's the former, West plays as first ruck). I would say Pods as a defender would be the smallest surprise in that scenario.
The more I think about it the more I think a loss would be unacceptable. We've had the Hawks' measure and made them look incredibly ordinary twice this year. Beyond the streak, the two games this year should tell a story. Our best against the Hawks has been good enough to pull away by 20 or so...
