Resource List thread - Inaccuracy in official records

Disputed one for first kick/first goal thanks to whoever uploaded a bunch of Melbourne 1986 games to YouTube. Round 8, 1986 - If you count Jeremy Nichols' (#39) swipe at the ball on the ground at the first bounce as a kick then it's a no. Otherwise, I don't see him get another before kicking...

List Records & Bests - Most Goals By A Player In A Game (ex-fp discussion)

August 1920 - Cubbins of St Kilda kicks 22 of his side's 38.27 against West Melbourne in the Junior competition.

Autopsy Off season crap thread: three things you got right at some point to do with the Demons (or footy more broadly)

    1) I was right into Gawn in the early days when he was in and out of the side BUT also sooked up when we traded the Stefan Martin Experience so maybe they cancel each other out. 2) Also connected to the SME via somebody who once belted him. I wanted to get Steven May out of Gold Coast for a few...

Opinion Where do Gawn, Petracca, and Oliver rank in our all-time greats?

Gawn - right near the top Petracca - high but short of the greatest of all time conversation Oliver - a clear third, and despite the 4x B&F and iconic Grand Final goal I don't think his reputation will have anywhere near the same staying power

Player Watch #33: Latrelle Pickett – Pick 12

Hopefully construct a barrier between herself and the microphone.

If this report is correct, can we get retrospective justice for Tom Ferguson - who doesn't appear to have ever been retrospectively named joint winner of the 1942 Gardiner Medal after losing on countback.

To return to this post seven years later, Record (04/08/1951) says of Jimmy Dorgan, "three years ago he played for the Melbourne Thirds". His age would be right for this, so I think this is probably right and he was also at Melbourne for a time.

When have you been most optimistic/pessimistic as a Melbourne supporter?

I agree on the Gold Coast 2013 game (featuring white flag waving) as the low point. Garbage on-field, nobody in the stands, ex-players potting us in the media, and some of the all-time great MFC Facebook comments. Including the thoughts of John Fidge, and when people who played for Melbourne in...

Win Prizes The Bay needs you - a call to arms of non bay flogs (main bored posters excluded)

The only time I was ever suspended on BF was for calling West Coast fans carnts in an early round of the classic Watts vs NicNat debate. Can't beat that, not going to try.

Traded #13: Clayton Oliver – UNPRECEDENTED 4x B&F, 3x AA, 2x AFLCA Winner and Premiership Player. Traded to GWS

He's a modern great and anyone who boos him is a bum, but I've had enough of the circus*. Time for him to go elsewhere and hopefully still be available for premiership reunions in the future. * but the comedy value part of me is open to him and May turning a year in the VFL into the equivalent...

SUMMONED Do these flanges need to be so dramatic? It's only footy nuffs following this drama, no need to act like you're on the Real Housewives of Docklands.
