Besides if we are planning to trade the big fella, we need to drive his price up so we don't end up paying him to play for an opponent.

I'd like to see KT get another run. It would be good if he could get his confidence up because when it is, he's a different player. He was one of our best in the prelim against Geelong last year. It would be good to have forward and ruck depth come finals.

Hoping to see Tippo selected and seize the opportunity. We need to have some height in the forward line to prevent their swingmen drifting forward. Taylor has been consistent this year and Hawkins is in form. Last year we played Teddy as a forward during the H&A game at the Spuddery and one of...
I'd love to see the figures on this. The list has been turned over in the past three years (loss of Mummy, Mal, LRT, Pebs, Goodes, Shaw), so it would be interesting to see how the club plans its expenditure. They would need money in reserve to negotiate with Parker, and there would be other...
I disagree.
1. There's a reason the Hawks have won 3 in a row - they are bloody good when it matters since 2012. 2012 season record aside, they were better than us in 2012, were better for much of the GF and kicked poorly. We took our chances and took the cup.
2. Last year, the Hawks were...
Perhaps. I liked Biggs - reminded me of Pebbles O'Keefe. But you can't have everyone. And Heeney actually IS Pebbles - he even wears his number.
Everitt looked good running around at Carlton which Terry Wallace (yes him) reckons has the worst list in the comp. Everitt had a penetrating kick at...
This is probably why we are being so coy at the moment. If Bird goes, we'll have cap space and list space for another player. Likewise with Pykey. I wonder what the club has done with Goodesy's money?
Actually I reckon the Hawks are only interested in Carlisle because Suckling flew the coup. Bet they didn't see that coming. It's not great list management if you're scrambling. And let's face it, Hawks would not have been in the picture for Carlisle if the Saints had the competence, and a...
I respectfully disagree. The Hawks have assembled a great list, have lost a few players through the process (ie. Suckling, Mitch Hallahan) but to describe our list management as having "lost the plot" or that we have made "numerous blunders", is wrong on so many levels.
Let's look at the trades...
I do not think it is a fair comparison. The Hawks are an extremely good side. They are filled with superstar talent (Rioli, Gunston, Burgoyne), are well coached, and are Victorian based (a massive advantage - because the bulk of AFL players are from Vic/SA/WA) but above all else - they are an...
GWS got within 7 of upsetting last year's premiers today too. Any team on their day. Any team. It is a reminder that you've got to show up ready to play, and not just expect to phone it in, like we did against GWS.
The Kurt Tippett Cup. That is right - the first game between these two clubs since Kurt Tippett rejected overtures from Gold Coast and Brisbane to join the Sydney Swans!
Coming off a record breaking win against Geelong, this clash is likely to be the battle for 3rd on the ladder (if GC beat...
A reasonable performance from our boys - nothing spectacular mind, but should build confidence. It was good to see 12 goal kickers - it is one thing I have been missing.
Lloyd looks pretty good, and Kizza is just dynamic - there is no other word for it.
Would love to see Mitch, Buddy and...
If it's a good whisky, it will be an empty glass. Just a matter of time. If it's the swans, it will be a full glass. Same principle.
Seriously I used to be super negative/critical, hold high expectations for the team each game, and was gutted when we fell short. It made my afl experience...
