They didn't invest heavily in him, they paid him the same salary that any of the other 17 clubs would gladly have paid if they had drafted him. And those 17 clubs also probably have better coaches and other facilities to invest in him.

600k is a lot to pay for a development coach, frankly I would not be willing to pay that.
If he is on that sort of money then he needs to play every week when fit and be a key figure in attack.
Very disappointing that after playing in the heartbreaks of 2014 and 2016, and knowing what the day requires, he didn't have what it took to get the team up for a grand final.
Hopefully the lessons not learned from the 2 grand finals will be learned from the 3rd.
