    I am glad you agree. Not many others do. I do feel sorry for Port, but they have signed alot of free agents, got Horne-Francis Cheaply as well. But they might get ripped off with a Butters trade later this year as well.

    I think should allow one player every 10 years that you can use 3 picks on. Of course clubs will do it straight away, but so what. Port would presumably use the 3 picks for Cochrane, then need to use only 2 in future

    Perhaps best option is a 2 year 2million deal with Port. Then he can go where he wants without the club being stuffed because of all the draft capital given up to draft him.

    I favour one player every 10 years you can use 3 picks, or implement the new rules as is, but make the discount 15% for 2026, 10% for 2027, 5% for 2028. Stops the complaining ( certainly carlton dont have a leg to stand on).

    With bulldogs injuries their 1st rounder will drop. I agree Port are entitled to be annoyed with the timing, if the system is now acknowledged as rubbish, who was responsible. The commission, that's who. Maybe Laura Kane a tiny bit.

    The problem is 5 or 6 of best 12 players missing. If only 3 of best 12, team is alot better.

    Dayne Beams and Nic Reiwoldt both played first grade for Southport in the QAFL as 17 year olds. No need for an academy on that basis. I think academy's are good though as kids " think" with a kids mind and think they are part of an AFL club which helps some stay in the game.
