    2025 Draft Thread

A lot of rumours of us bidding early on academy players. I wonder whether we are trying to pressure those teams into a trade for points?

Strategy Trade and List Management Thread Part 8 (opposition supporters - READ posting rules before posting)

What if we start setting up our cap so that we can offer Butters a 1 year 5 million dollar contract? That way we don't do a 'rework' of an existing contract, his next contact would just be a 6 year 4 million contract (or whatever the agreed total contact balances out to). No way Port could...

Why is everyone so confident about getting a good return for Sanders? If he is ooc Tassie can just sign him effectively as a free agent? Can almost guarantee the maximum compensation from the AFL would be a ladder tied first. The picks that Tassie have to trade are for contracted players...

    Fixture 2026 Fixture Discussion

We need to be realistic with our fixture requests. Let's ask for an annual marquee fixture against St.Kilda for a Tuesday morning in June at about 9.15. We can play the game in Casey and we should probably rotate with North Melbourne every third year so they don't feel left out. We can play...

    2025 Draft Thread

Bringing next year's pick forward is actually a great ploy in regards to the Butters pursuit. It would make Port more inclined to take the compo pick rather than matching and taking whatever picks we could cobble together for a trade. Obviously very dependant on where they finish but it could...

Strategy Trade and List Management Thread Part 7 (opposition supporters - READ posting rules before posting)

I was thinking the same thing the other day. Not really as a substantial role change but more a lever to pull when we are leaking runs of goals as we tend to do and as we did in the 2nd quarter on Sunday. We have robbed the backline of that clean composure by taking Richards and then Freija out...

    AFLW AFLW/VFLW 2025 - General Discussion

Agreed, I didn't mean to disparage the girls we took and I think they have all shown great signs. Barwick is a bit of a worry and I wonder whether her size at this level stops her playing the role she did in juniors. Possibly also a bit tentative on the back of her knee injury. Hopefully she...

    AFLW AFLW/VFLW 2025 - General Discussion

I know these kind of ruminations are pointless and that teams probably wouldn't have been as happy to trade out of the first round of last year's draft, but if we had our 2023 draft hand last year we could have picked up Centra, Fish, Painter (although list-wise we would probably still have gone...

What's Dovastons field kicking like? From the couple of videos I've seen he looks creative by hand but a bit erratic by foot. He definitely looks to be a handy foot of the pack type though.

    List Mgmt. 2024 Draft Thread

Clubs draft for attributes rather than position. Every chance we see these guys playing in different positions to where they have played as juniors.

    List Mgmt. 2024 Draft Thread

If the offer was the same as what was posted here (37, 39 and F2 for 29 and F3) I find it hard to believe that we wouldn't have been able to pick up the players we wanted with Essendon's picks. We still would have coughed up a future 3rd but we would have had Essendon's nice juicy future 2nd to...

Richmond might be more interested in another future first rather than a collection of seconds, leaving the Essendon offer for us.

    List Mgmt. 2024 Draft Thread

I've only seen game vision from one game but Alger doesn't seem to be the crumbing type which is what I think we need. Has anyone got any better info on him? With Angove off the board I'm wondering whether a rookie fly on Davey Motlop is the way to go.

Pick 20# Welcome to the Bulldogs Cooper Hynes

Ironic that people are reacting negatively on here as I expect he will quickly become a fan favorite. He looks like a big kid who knows how to use his body and we are desperate for a harder edge in our team. I'm seeing more Cam Zurhar than anyone at this stage although maybe more midfield scope.
