I think after the last the last series in England, there will be a lot of feeling in the Ashes this year. both on the field and from the stands.
I like beating india more now than the Poms I think, mainly as India has become the worlds best for playing the victim (held it for a while now), and...
My concern is the players run the show. They're established and the selectors/coach dont have the power to make the changes needed. Last year a classic example. Should have brought in an opener and given him a couple of summers to cement himself, instead they went with Smith (this after...
Maybe a drop in confidence from having it shown to him, quite starkly, that no matter how many runs he scores hes got limited chances to get into the side??
The guy was making runs for fun the prior to seasons in all forms, and when an openers spot came up, he got looked over for Smith.
Frustrating loss, and probably stuffs our season unless some results finally go our way for a change.
Midfield got overrun in the last, our forwards put on minimum pressure and the ball just walked out of our forward line and Hogan got hot.
Move on to next week and see what happens
Going to be tough to make changes.
I’d give McKenzie a run at box hill. Seemed to struggle last couple of weeks at AFL level and hasn’t been running out games well. Maybe a block of games at (2-3) box hill, to help build tank would be best?
He’s not a vfl player, but might benefit from full games
Yeah I did think that, and it's probably only Smith or Perryman (who doesn't excite me too much), unless we can encourage someone who we aren't expecting. Just wonder if someone like Serong can't do a similar role to Battle next year (granted, dominating VFL isn't the same as being a strong...
I'm wondering, with the season Serong is putting together, and the fact we'll have Blanck back next year, do we need Battle?? I mean, I like Battle and i think he'd be a great acquisition, but could we throw out cash elsewhere??
Pies need to find something in the off-season or their dynasty ends in a whimper. Forward line average, defence looks exposed without Murphy, injuries have hurt but will lose to retirement and the like.
Play like we have been, we win this by 5+ goals. Richmond won on the weekend, but Adelaide were woeful, and Richmond were only slightly better. Players off long break can come back and do well, it’s the second week they struggle so Taranto to back up his effort. Martin is a gun and will need...
I don’t Seamus has been all at sea on any opponent this year.
I’d consider bringing in Watson for McKenzie and giving CMac more midfield time.
Hardwick has been important up forward and Seamus developing nicely in defence
I love the fact we’re not reliant on Sicily like we’re last year. Scrimshaw, Frost, Weddle, .impey, Amon, Mass, all playing important roles in defence and distribution.
