Not exactly...from the press conference I listened to (not the media reports extrapolating out what was said) Dillon was asked what the penalty would've been if Jaidyn hadn't self-reported, and Dillon said something like "would've been looking at around the 22 game mark". The other thing here is...
Maybe...but the others out there could be thinking: mmm...10 weeks or 22 weeks or 0 weeks - I'll take my chances with the 0 weeks thanks - so long suckers...I guess we'll see how many of the others (and it would be naive to think there are no others) self-report in the near future
But I doubt the penalty would've remained the same if he was ousted when he self-reported - this penalty was orchestrated, and was made to fit the length of the h&a season, just as Heath Shaw's was
The Pies would have negotiated that sanction to ensure he's back for finals - no doubt about it, in my opinion. Just like the Heath Shaw suspension was set to have him back for finals, deals have been done.
Hasn't a big enough price been paid? Should our club be let down further by not having him available for finals? Having him out of the team hearts the entire team. He has enough time to consider his actions and should be spurred on to repay the club in spades when he DOES return this year in the...
He is obviously a gambler, and on his wage and the value of the bet it was not done for financial gain. He could be addicted and for those types it's something deeper that has it's hold on you - not just the prospect of financial gain.

At least, it seems, that our Club was able to negotiate the sanction to 10 effective weeks, enabling him to play finals. I imagine they may have been willing to challenge the sanction if he'd been rubbed out any longer
Mayne is outstanding for defensive pressure. On many, many, occasions he makes a contest out of nothing and spoils an otherwise near certain opposition possession. From the latter half of last season, and onwards this season, he is easily in our best 22.
