Prediction Who finishes highest out of Bulldogs, Essendon and Hawthorn in 2020?

I think injuries were a issue for us at that point in the season. We barely beat Gold Coast and got flogged by Port. We were missing a lot of best 22 players against the dogs: Hurley, Daniher, Smith, Saad, Bellchambers, Parish and Francis. Some of our best players were missing, and although...

Prediction Who finishes highest out of Bulldogs, Essendon and Hawthorn in 2020?

We have Hooker, Hurley, Ambrose and Francis ready to go. And while not 'proven', all signs point to Zerk-thatcher being close. Given his VFL form and the fact that they debuted him late last year. I think he will play ten plus games this season. Ambrose is underrated as a lock down defender. He...

Prediction Who finishes highest out of Bulldogs, Essendon and Hawthorn in 2020?

I wouldn't say Essendon have barren KP stocks. KPF stocks are thin yes, but not defenders at all. If you are talking about long term, Hooker and Hurley are getting on, but this thread is all about 2020. Besides them, Ambrose is also a decent KPD. Francis may be best as a intercepting third tall...

Which team list would you least want?

North Melbourne for me. Nearly all of the top 10 from their b&f will be turning 28+ this season (only Dumont is younger). Their mid aged players around 23-27 would have to be bottom 3 in the comp. Their kids are decent, but not good enough to make up for the other shortcomings of their list...

Which team is in the most trouble replacing its aging players? - 2020 edition

Bombers core is mostly 21-26, with a few older best 22. The only 30+ player that is important is Hooker. Hurley is only 29 and could have a few good seasons left. Ambrose is a competent KPD and is only 28. We have time to replace our aging key defenders. Our age profile is actually quite good.

Traded Orazio Fantasia [traded with #73 to Port for #29 and 2021 R3]

Not true. 2017 is within the last 3 years and he was very good kicking 39 goals in 20 games (did a hammy early in one of those too). In 2018 he was injured a bunch of times, yet still averaged more goals than anyone at Port besides Robbie Gray.

Draft Review 2015 - Redo the 2015 AFL Draft

The hilarious thing is that you are judging Parish based on his worst games and Simpkin on his best. Simpkin does have his games with good disposal, but he had eight games with 4+ clangers. Parish only had three. They both played 21 games and Parish had 42 clangers vs Simpkins 58. Parish has a...

Draft Review 2015 - Redo the 2015 AFL Draft

Wow you got me Bill, because some other players played well he had an average game. lol Simpkin was fifth for the coaches votes in one of the games you listed too (bog? lol!), against port who were witches hats and you flogged them by nearly 90 points. Yeah he really turned it on!!! lol

Draft Review 2015 - Redo the 2015 AFL Draft

Not bad. Nothing on Darcys 31 disposals, 11 clearances, 2 goal game though!

Draft Review 2015 - Redo the 2015 AFL Draft

It's not that I see Parish becoming exactly like Cunnington, but going by the stats you listed in the above post, Cunnington is a failure. That is my point. I understand you don't think his season was 'promising' and that's fine, you are entitled to your opinion. I think he showed a lot of...

Draft Review 2015 - Redo the 2015 AFL Draft

Cunnington has averaged 21 disposals over his career, yet you are bagging a young player for only averaging 20 (he had a game where he was injured early and a couple more where he played majority forward too). Jy Simpkin is a forward/mid that kicked only 6 goals and averaged 18.5 disposals per...

    Game Day Collingwood v Essendon Round 23 - 19:50 AEST, Aug 23, 2019

Collingwood have some quality outs too. But teams don't often win when they make a lot of changes, and we have made six this week. And many more in the previous two weeks. The lack of continuity hurts.

    Changes v Essendon

you are a dh. We have some important outs but 12 players is a huge stretch. Heppell is playing too.

Recommitted Aaron Francis [re-signed for 3 more years]

Pelchen was sticking up for Dodoro in the article I read. He defended Dodoro multiple times with statements like: 'He certainly plays games...but it's his right to do that. He's trying to do what's best for Essendon'. He said he has always found Adrian good to deal with. He also said that he has...

    2019 ALL AUSTRALIAN TEAM

Why would we regret drafting Mcgrath? Drafting is not an exact science. When clubs were polled on afl.com.au around half said they would choose McGrath at pick one. If you are going to play that game, we should have regret every time our clubs draft selection was not the best possible player...
