  • Wasn't you then. The guy I saw was in a red commodore.

Yeah I havent been able to watch any games yet either.

I wont be around on weekends to watch games. I've got a footy journo position for the website countryfooty.com.au (http://www.countryfooty.com.au/SGL.htm) so I will be back in the country covering Spencer Gulf League games.

The ankle is healing well, I've just started walking again.

See what happens, I might be able to catch up for a few games this year.

    Cheers to you aswell.
Hey Angus, its a black ford mustang--I'm only 100m from the oval (same st).

yeah going well mate, pretty annoyed about not being able to see round 1 & now not being able to see round 3 v haw.

I really think we'll beat haw comfortably, people are getting carried away with them.

    how's the ankle going?

we'll catch up once we can actually see the bloody game....i think we have a few sat night games coming up.

    cheers.
    Hey Ben mate, hows things?

What kind of car do you drive? I swear I saw you driving down Arthur street.
Recovery is taking a bit longer for the season- but I'll come for a kick when she's good.

This season was a long time coming, I love my cricket but I was counting down till the NAB cup started.
i am on fisher street--which is the same street as Daly Oval....will make it easy for catching up for a kick when your ankle is healed.

Mate, i am already pumped for this season & can't wait for it to start.
Hey mate, where abouts did you say you lived in Magill? I've moved house, I just live off Arthur street, pretty close to Daly oval. I remember you saying you aren't far from there either.
cool, we'll catch up for a few games this year--might pick another venue, The Alma pissed me off with their attitude prelim night.

    cheers.
I'm in a moonboot for another month, recvery is taking a little longer than expected.

I'll just umpire amatuers this year, I've missed too much of the SANFL pre-season to even think of holding my spot. Luckily I already told them I was taking a year off, so I haven't recieved any angry calls from the coaching staff as to why i am not showing up for trainings.

I haven't heard much on the pre-season front, but any improvement from those two would be very handy.
Angus, how is your ankle going after the reco?
This damn 42 degree heat is about as enjoyable as that free kick to Reiwoldt in the prelim!!!!
Have you heard much news about how the WBD preseason is going, hopefully most are running & no injuries? A few people have been saying Everitt has improved his work ethic out of sight, him & Hill taking the next step would be very handy.
you back umpiring again in 2010?

    cheers,

    Ben.
Its hard for me to comment on these youngsters as i simply don't see enough of them, however i would say Grant looked to me like he had a lot of work to do to even get close to playing AFL footy & i doubt it will be in 2010, he needs to get a lot stronger--but i'm sure he will.

Everitt is the one that could improve out of sight, he has the height & speed & a bit of natural flair so i think he's exciting, i would try him on a wing.

    have a good NYE mate.

    cheers.
    hey Ben

Yeah it's a shocker, damn heat. Makes it worse that I had my ankle reco so I'm stuck inside with a busted aircon.
I reckon dogs will be around the mark. Hall is a big in, especially if he toes the line. I think we will finish top 4 again, no real movers that are primed to overtake us, Crows and Brisbane are most likely but we still have the edge on them. Hopefully we can win some early finals games. Head into prelims with confidence (and hopefully no cheating scum divers in the other team) so really, I am confident but wont have a solid idea of just what we are capable of until the mid-way point of the season.

What do you reckon of our drafting? I umpired Howard early season, he looked ok, nothing special though. Also umpired Panos, too. He was decent. I think drafting him shows just how little time Jarrad Grant has left to prove himself. Say Hall gets injured and we elevate panos from the rookie list, he may well leapfrog grant.

    Whaddya reckon?

    Cheers, Angus.
