    I think last season he was also doing boxing work with a professional trainer and Clohesy? I think he's putting in the work, maybe the results are just not happening as quick as he'd hope.

    Hard to think of a more apples to apples comparison than Clohesy and Stevens - they’re inside midfielders who lack the step of pace necessary to jump from state leagues to the AFL. Ted pretty clearly hit his ceiling, remains to be seen if Stevens has (probably).

    I thought they were roughly with Talent League U18 zones - hence the Dogs having Western Victoria, which was the same zone as the Rebels.

    This is probably the concern for me. You look at 2022 and 2024 (even 2011) there have been young guys who have forced their way into the side and made it better. Maybe Clark or Knevitt take the next step but beyond that it looks pretty slim pickings. Polk maybe but who does he replace? EDIT...

    I just checked and Wells on draft night described him as strong and big kick, which I think matches his game. I wouldn't say he was explosive.

    Torn on this. On the one hand, I think we have to start acknowledging that there are limits to what the AFL can do, and that pulling the same two levers can only have a limited impact. Clubs that are bad for a sustained period are usually that way because they can't recruit or develop players...
