I think part of it is we require our youngsters to be fit AND strong since they're carrying the bulk of the load. They spin their wheels trying to put on size and improve their running at the same time. At those other clubs they can cover the fitness deficiencies through the older boys running...

I know it's touted as common knowledge but can someone explain the 'defence less dangerous than forward' argument for Charlie? If your man goes up as a defender you've got to go with him. If you're in the hole, you've got stand there. As a forward, you set the tone and direction, though.
