    My understanding though was that the deficit was applied to the future round the pick was placed. I’m guessing this is just another instance of the AFL making up the rules as they go along

    How does the deficit work though if they are trading out all their future picks. They have traded F1 already so can they go into deficit if a bid is in R1. It seams ridiculous that you can trade all your future picks and go into deficit but then have nothing to pay that deficit next year??
