Welcome Welcome to the Hawks Jack Scrimshaw

Begs the question: Hawks or Scrimshaw!!!???

Welcome Welcome to Hawthorn : Bodie Ryan!

I see a bit of similarity with Seamus with his dash and endeavour from defence.

Welcome Welcome to Hawthorn - Mabior Chol

It’s funny. Yesterday, I thought he did some great things but didn’t rip apart a defense that he might have been able to really get a hold of. Because of that, I was a little disappointed. After reading all the really positive comments, it made me think again. I reckon I didn’t give him enough...

Welcome Welcome to Hawthorn : Jack Ginnivan!

100% this. I will continue to make the argument that the onness should be on the tackler to make a legal tackle, not on the man playing/with the ball to place their body in a way that makes it easy for them to be tackled. Jack is showing a lot of maturity for a very young man. I would be...

    Preview Round 7, 2024 : Hawks v Swans, 4pm Sunday 28th April, MCG

With another 7 day break I’m expecting quite a competitive performance against Sydney. I still think that the big games compounded by the short breaks and the tough conditions at the GC were the catalyst for our poor performance. Sounds like Day will be the only in. Unfortunately, I’d be...

Welcome Welcome to Hawthorn: Josh Ward. Extends to 2025!

Needs to back it up next week. So much potential there - next step is consistency. Same can be said for Ward. Let’s see him do it again next week. [emoji106]

Analysis Hawthorn rebuild: are they tanking?

Does it count as a rebuild if you’ve never actually achieved anything?

    Review Round 4, 2024: Box Hill Hawks v North Melbourne, 20 April 2024, 2.05pm @ BHCO

What a great day for the Hawks. Brilliant to bounce back after last weeks loss. The BHH listed players were exceptional. A number of them should be getting games ahead of our senior midfield! Was impressed by some of our new talls - including Dear. Some great talent coming through and some...

Welcome Welcome to Hawthorn: Josh Ward. Extends to 2025!

Same role. The issue is that our midfield are not getting it forward in the seniors.

Welcome Welcome to Hawthorn : Jack Ginnivan!

I don’t understand how a shrug or a lowering the knees is considered anything different than any other evasive manoeuvre. For example, if im running down the wing and some comes to tackle me, i do a side step, and they don’t stick the tackle and trip me, its a free kick. I see the...

No Oppo Supporters General AFL discussion and other club news

The suspension is the outcome. What isn’t clear is what action he’s pissed at. Himself for the behaviour. The AFL for the heavy handedness? The AFL For the lack of equivalency with Clarkson, etc. it’s that lack of clarity which makes the comments confusing.

Coach Sam Mitchell's direction for the club and 2024 news

Playing contested footy involves tackling, and we’re down towards the bottom on that.

Welcome Welcome to Hawthorn : Calsher Dear!

Come on man. Why do people do this to kids. ‘Might be better than Roughead’. You’ve got to be freaking kidding me. A guy who barely got picked up in the draft and has played two games might be better that a multi premiership hero who had kicked 100s of goals and was picked at number 2. And...

Coach Sam Mitchell's direction for the club and 2024 news

Not surprised about a lighter training load given how hard the games have been, the effort that has been put in, and the short breaks. All this, combined with a long injury list, would have been the reason for caution.
