You This is the biggest issue we have. With Pendles, Sidey, Treloar, Adams, Beams, De Goey and a reasonable support crew, why do we get beaten out of the middle every week when we have one of the best rucks in the league? Grundy getting 11 clearances is crazy... in the last quarter it seemed...

Maybe we’re waiting to see who’s left in the 90s knowing that we can match Atu if necessary but if we get there and Grundy and Atu are left we could pick Grundy and take Atu as a rookie. Still excitement to go.

Is anyone certain that the picks have to be live to be used as points? Say we had 5 picks but only three list spots so only the first three picks were live. If we use two of these on IQ then we still have two list spots so wouldn’t the next two picks now be live. If they then go on Kelly, we’d...

Read almost every post on all three trade threads while waiting for a deal... lots of interesting comments, lots of time wasted, haven’t got any work done and still no deals I don’t really mind if we get Beams or not, positives and negatives in the deal, but really don’t want to go to the draft...

agree! Beams would be great but isn’t essential. If we miss out I’d like to try and upgrade 18 slightly or if we can’t, take it to the draft but have a plan in place to swap it for lower picks/higher points if a bid comes early.

We always seem to give up too much. Two firsts seems okay if we get the points back roughly equivalent to 18 but still leaves us without a first rounder next year.

With no draft and salary cap the richer clubs with better facilities and profile would dominate. So west Coast, Adelaide, Port, Pies, Essendon and to a lesser degree Freo, Tigers and Hawks. Many of the others wouldn’t survive.

The Pieshad the 3rd easiest draw this year but the Tigers as reigning premiers had the 5th easiest. The current system tries to give better teams a harder draw but doesn’t always work. Pies to make finals easily next year with Hawks and Cats to slide.
