    Why would avoiding trading hawks 2nd pick for starcevich be a good thing? Much rather trade them that and then use the pick they give us to get someone else as well or better yet use it to move up the draft order

The AFL are going to say no to us getting Starcevich as a free agent without diluting our pick 2 because it would somehow be unfair to the Lions even though they're getting 2 bigger name free agents anyway so we wouldn't want to dilute their compo even though...

    I think it's just the age of the player when they sign the deal at the new club as a free agent regardless of their year of birth, I recall that being used as an argument in favour of Mckay getting band 1 a couple of years ago.
