Another fantastic GG.exe pick in dynasty a year or so ago...

TMZ Sports reports Tre Mason's family is concerned about his mental health and personal safety.

Mason has been involved with the police on five separate occasions over the past four months. The most recent incident occurred on Saturday when multiple units were called to Mason's home in the middle of the afternoon. Mason was not arrested, but it has become clear he is struggling. Hopefully, he can get the help he needs. Rams coach Jeff Fisher has already conceded there is a good chance Mason is "not going to be" with the team in the near future.

Speaking on PFT Live, ESPN Cleveland's Tony Grossi said the Browns' quarterback battle is "not an open competition."

Grossi said Robert Griffin III will get four out of five reps with the first-team offense. Coach Hue Jackson has refused to name Griffin the starter heading into camp, but it appears the job is all but sewn up. If third-rounder Cody Kessler shows well enough to earn the backup job, the Browns could decide to trade Josh McCown during camp.

Like that was even a challenge---better question is the last time we had a winning record!! ;)

NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reports Cowboys RE Randy Gregory's new suspension is for 10 games "at least," and that there's concern he "may not play again."

It's unclear if that's 10 games on top of Gregory's current four-game ban, or 10 games overall. Gregory's substance-abuse struggles were known before he was even drafted, so it's fair to wonder if he's headed down a Manziel-ian path. The Cowboys shouldn't be counting on any snaps from Gregory this season.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports suspended Cowboys RE Randy Gregory has again violated the league's substance-abuse policy, and is facing a longer suspension.

ESPN's Ed Werder reported earlier Tuesday that Gregory was headed to drug treatment instead of Cowboys camp. Now we know why. It's a sadly unsurprising development for a player who entered the league with lots of questions about his off-the-field habits. It's probably best assumed that he won't see the field in 2016, which is devastating news for the Cowboys' wafer-thin front seven. Owner Jerry Jones could be getting awful tempted to give free agent Greg Hardy a call.

Lions agreed to terms with WR Anquan Boldin on a one-year contract.

Boldin visited the Lions last month. Boldin still had plenty left in the tank for the pathetic 49ers last season, catching 69 passes in 14 games as he dealt with bottom-three quarterback play. Still, going on 36, he's headed to the Lions as a No. 3 receiver. He'll cut into Golden Tate, Marvin Jones, and Eric Ebron's targets, but shouldn't destroy their fantasy value. As a standalone option, Boldin probably won't be more than a WR5. It's a big addition for a Lions team moving on from Calvin Johnson, but not a major fantasy event.

NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reports free agent Ryan Fitzpatrick is not expected to re-sign with the Jets before the start of training camp on Wednesday.

The Harvard man is committed to hardball. Of course, hardball works better when you have actual leverage. Until/if a starter gets hurt elsewhere, Fitz is essentially negotiating against himself. With bitterness having set in, Fitz could sit out for quite a while, but the Jets remain his only realistic destination.

Eagles SLB Nigel Bradham has been charged with assault following a fight with a Miami hotel worker.

Bradham's group was evidently upset about how long it took to get an umbrella Bradham had paid for. A verbal altercation became physical, and a bottle was allegedly smashed on the worker's head. It's a serious charge. The Eagles are "aware" of the incident.

When/If a starter gets hurt? its not a matter of if, but when and how many

Rams released QB Nick Foles.

It's been a move long in the making. After trading Sam Bradford and swapping a few draft picks with the Eagles to acquire Foles last offseason, the Rams then handed Foles a two-year, $24.5 million extension only to see him start 11 games and get benched for Case Keenum. Foles posted a horrific 69.0 passer rating with a 7:10 TD:INT ratio and career-worst 6.1 YPA. Expect him to land on his feet quickly as a backup on a much cheaper contract. The Jets could have interest.

Cardinals signed ILB Donald Butler, formerly of the Chargers.

Butler was given a seven-year, $51.8 million extension in 2014, but quit on the team after getting paid and was run out of town back in March. Beat writer Kevin Acee went as far to call Butler a "thief" after he "stole from the team." Butler was Pro Football Focus' 51st-ranked inside linebacker out of 60 qualifiers last season. He'll compete for a gig behind Kevin Minter and Deone Bucannon.

Philip Rivers said one goal of the 2016 season is to get Antonio Gates at least eight touchdowns to break Tony Gonzalez's tight end touchdowns record.

With 104 career touchdowns, Gates needs eight to pass Gonzalez's mark of 111 for sixth all time and first among tight ends. Considering Gates was still able to score five times last season despite missing the first four games and limping through the second half of the calendar with a sprained MCL, we'd consider it likely he passes Gonzalez. Even at 36, Gates remains a TE1.

TMZ Sports reports the Columbus (OH) city prosecutor has launched an investigation into the domestic violence allegations against Ezekiel Elliott.

We're not expecting much to come of this, but it's noteworthy. Elliott's now-ex-girlfriend, Tiffany Thompson, called the police last Friday and accused Elliott of beating her for a week straight. Witnesses deny seeing Elliott ever laying a finger on Thompson, and Elliott has text messages from the female proving she's trying to set him up. Elliott is unlikely to be charged in this matter.

The Jets have signed Ryan Fitzpatrick to a one year $12 million contract.

According to spotrac.com the deal puts the Jets over the salary cap by $4.1 million and I have no idea how they might get back under it. Just about everyone on their list has a pretty sizable dead cap number compared to their actual cap number.

Allegedly Fitzpatrick can earn up to $3 million in incentives. Not sure what those incentives might comprise at this stage, but knowing Fitzpatrick, none of the money will be contingent on making the playoffs GIVEN HE HAS NEVER MADE THE PLAYOFFS AND THREW AWAY A GOLDEN CHANCE TO MAKE THEM LAST SEASON~!
