So Round 23 is done and dusted which saw the favourites get up in each game although there were entertaining contests along the way. It was a mixed bag from a tipping point of view but Monocle, hansie, masai and myself managed to tip the card in Round 23 while Carbine Chaos got the bonus point this week.

There's not much change at the top with gaskin still leading on 64 points but Monocle has cut the margin to two on 62 points with myself now outright third on 61. @Kram81 and Spanna_ are now locked in a tie for fourth place with 60 points apiece.

Finals Week One Fixtures

League

Qualifying Final: South Fremantle vs West Perth at Fremantle Community Bank Oval (Saturday 2:15pm, margin)
Elimination Final: Peel Thunder vs East Perth at Bendigo Bank Stadium (Sunday 3:10pm, margin)

Reserves

Qualifying Final: Claremont vs South Fremantle at Fremantle Community Bank Oval (Saturday, 11:25am)
Elimination Final: East Fremantle vs Subiaco at Bendigo Bank Stadium (Sunday 12:25pm, neutral venue)

Colts

Qualifying Final: Claremont vs South Fremantle at Fremantle Community Bank Oval (Saturday, 8:55am)
Elimination Final: Swan Districts vs East Perth at Bendigo Bank Stadium (Sunday 9:55am, neutral venue)

Okay so the finals are here with six games to tip for and eight points up for grabs. The qualifying finals will be played on Saturday whilst the Elimination Finals will be played on Sunday, please also note the times above and the later start times on Sunday.

In the League matches, South Fremantle will host West Perth at Fremantle Community Bank Oval while the Elimination Final sees the battle of the alignment clubs with Peel Thunder hosting East Perth down in Mandurah. Both matches will be telecast on TV so please make sure you select a margin for both games.

The Reserves sees Claremont take on South Fremantle in the Qualifying Final to be played at Fremantle Community Bank Oval. The Elimination Final sees East Fremantle lock horns with Subiaco at Bendigo Bank Stadium on Sunday.

In the Colts, the Qualifying Final is a repeat of the Reserves with Claremont and South Fremantle doing battle down in Fremantle. The Elimination Final sees Swan Districts battle East Perth who snuck into the finals with a win in Round 23. That game is down in Mandurah on Sunday.

The weather I can pleasantly say is looking great at this stage with sunny conditions expected on Saturday with Sunday looking partly cloudy at the moment. Temperatures are forecast to hover in the low 20's so a perfect weekend for the WAFL with no AFL on this weekend. Hopefully we'll see some top footy on the weekend and six really good contests as we get into the business end of 2016. Happy tipping!!

Week One of the finals has been run and won with some interesting scores from a tipping perspective. Freezin proved to be the master this week, getting all six games correct and also picking up the bonus point for the Peel vs East Perth game to take his tally to seven points for the round. andana got the bonus point for the South Fremantle vs West Perth match to boost his weekly tally to five points.

Things have gotten closer on the ladder with gaskin still leading on 68 points but his lead has been cut to just one point with Monocle right behind on 67. Spanna_ and myself are tied for third place on 65 points with Kram in outright fifth on 63 points.

Finals Week Two Fixtures

League

Second Semi Final: Subiaco vs South Fremantle at Medibank Stadium (3:10pm, margin)
First Semi Final: West Perth vs Peel Thunder at HBF Arena (2:15pm)

Reserves

Second Semi Final: East Perth vs Claremont at HBF Arena (11:30am, neutral venue)
First Semi Final: South Fremantle vs East Fremantle at Medibank Stadium (12:25pm, neutral venue)

Colts

Second Semi Final: Perth vs Claremont at HBF Arena (9am, neutral venue)
First Semi Final: South Fremantle vs East Perth at Medibank Stadium (9:55am)

Week Two of the finals is upon us with things heading into the semi final stage of the season with all matches to be played on Sunday. The League matches see West Perth do battle with Peel Thunder at Joondalup in a do-or-die match while Subiaco host South Fremantle with the winner to advance through to the Grand Final. That match is the TV game this week and leads into the Channel 7 news afterwards.

The Reserves' games were crackers last week and hopefully we'll have another two here. Ladder leaders East Perth take on Claremont at Joondalup in the second semi final which may see some Eagles' listed players turn out for the Royals. The first semi final is a Fremantle derby with South Fremantle and East Fremantle resuming hostilities at Medibank Stadium.

In the Colts, the second semi has minor premiers Perth facing off against Claremont at Joondalup with the first semi seeing South Fremantle locking horns with East Perth who upset Swans last week to win their way through to week two of the finals. That match will be the first game held at Medibank Stadium on Sunday.

The weather at this stage is looking great with mostly sunny conditions and 19 degrees expected. Hopefully we see a repeat of last weekend's weather which was brilliant on both days. Happy tipping!!
