Food, Drink & Dining Out Favourite Beer II

Any recommendations (or places that should be avoided) as far as brewpubs/breweries/beer cellars in Sydney? Last time I was there is was an utter wasteland.

Also, if anyone lives near Cairns or Sydney and is interested in getting their hands on American brews not offered by the online sites sometime in the next two weeks, drop me a private message.

Paulaner, I have tried it in Germany when I was on a trip, and now I have some relatives there that quite all the time send me some boxes of beer. It's such a happiness when i receive them!

Yep. One of the better Aussie beers I've had........if not the best.

The pilsner and the pale ale are so-so, but the IPA hits good notes.

Yeah grabbed a mixed slab of Hawkers which had the IPA, Pilsner, Pale ale and Saison from craigos website. Rate all their beers. The Pale ale is great.

New Belgium Ranger IPA.


One of the most delightful mouth-feel IPA's I've had, although the finish just can't carry the whole thing through.

Made in Keilor Park which is pretty much Tullamarine, in Melbourne. They also do a Pale Ale (which is good) and a Pilsner which I am yet to try.

Putting up new beers and packs tonight (finally).

Had a chance to visit The Grifter, they are brewing some real solid beers, said they are hoping to start canning in the next few months. Keep an eye on them, felt they were the best of the Sydney breweries I got a chance to visit. Their Kettle Sour was extremely well done.

Wayward was a very close second, same deal, haven't quite hit distribution capacity yet.

Forest lodge hotel, quarrymans hotel, dove and olive, keg and brew are all exceptional craft beer pubs in the inner city, with great pub food to boot. Also worth going to young Henry's/batch/wayward/willie the boatman cellar doors. Not much food there but great beer. If you're sober enough, there's an axe throwing centre next to willies!

I actually had a weak moment yesterday. Last day of term, no students for 3 weeks - went to get a carton of stone and wood and my local had asahi for $45. I couldn't really pass that up

Asahi is a good session beer to drink on a night like tonight when you just want to focus on the sport.
Prefer tiger of the big Asian beers though personally

I think you use it a bit more than me my distinct beers is 140. I forget to enter them in a lot of the time too though
