I dont think 2017 season will see us flop after the "honeymoon"...Bolts trains hard and extracts a lot from his group, pushing them further forward in fitness, and strategy team rolls....basically we once again will begin to see an efficient sweeping defence,an ok midfield, and this time an emergence of some kind of forward structure, with Mc Kay,Jack,Pickett later,C.Curnow,Sumner [fit],Smedts,Lamb,Casboult,Jones,Jaksch......
I think Bolts with Shane Watson will try and develope a strategy forward..something was very wrong in 2016..
we were easily shut down by opposition defence with limited marking of long balls in ,and not a lot of leading and creative passing going forward..would either miss the shot or turn it over proir to that quite easily.
They will have to strip back the forward set up and really try and see what might begin to work..long balls in to Casboult or Jones saw very limited returns...i think we will begin to see a more mobile set up...and a lot more running and leading,to open up space, not a sit at home forward taking two defenders all day ,no chance.
I think McKay, can do this..he can lead and will have to cover a lot of ground.
