I volunteer for an animal shelter once a week... and find it very fulfilling.

It has certainly broadened my opinion on many dog breeds

Greyhounds are a fave of mine... very underrated and sadly misunderstood breed by many
Yes. The poor greyhound is generally only thought of as something to punt on down at the TAB, but they're a wonderful pet and companion.

I'd recommend to anyone looking at getting a dog to visit the shelters, there's some great dogs in shelters that need a loving home.

Calling all Victorian animal lovers

***BLANKETS & TOWELS DESPERATELY NEEDED!***

We’re currently running very low on bedding and towels for the animals in our care. If you have any to spare, please drop them off to your local RSPCA.

Please share to spread the word, so we can keep our fur-babies comfy and warm

Whilst I agree that the video is disturbing, calves in most countries in pretty much all modern dairy farms are routinely taken from their mothers. All male calves and about a quarter of female calves are sent to the slaughterhouse within 12 hours of birth to become veal. The remaining female calves are retained to become milk producers themselves. These new heifers are cyclically artificially impregnated and come to term, only to have their calf taken from them immediately, and are then hooked up to produce excessive amounts of milk (often suffering mastitis) and then impregnated again over their 4-6 years at which point they are considered spent and sent to the slaughterhouse themselves.
If you drink milk or enjoy any dairy products you basically facilitate this process.
