Haven't played in a long time but If I was to show up for apraisal, It may go something like this.

  • Overweight and unfit
  • Hasn't done a pre-season in over 10 years
  • Severe back Injury in early 20's - High risk of re-occourance
  • Runs out of legs after 100mtrs
  • Disposal by foot can be erratic
  • kicks like a donkey on his non prefered
  • Suffers from Cloke Foot when kicking at goal from +30 metres out.

Pretty sure I'd struggle to make it through an auskick session these days without rehab after :)
 
I too haven't played in a fair few years (not since 9th grade iirc), but I'll have a go seeing as I might pick up the boots again for 2017.

Deceptive strength in tackling and contests
Rarely injured
Large amount of umpiring experience so know how to deceive the umpires pretty well
1%ers like spoils, smothers, sledging, and being an idiot when on the mark to put them off

Weaknesses
Horrible set shot kicker
Very inconsistent kicking technique
Haven't played in ages
Very little motivation to do any work outside of training and games (especially weights, ain't nobody got time for that)
Kicks usually fall just short of intended target, something I'll never get out of (i.e. if I need to kick 25m I'll kick 20m, if I need to kick 40 I'll kick 35, need to kick 55 I'll kick 50, etc)

After my first season back, I figure I may as well put in a write up.

Position: Back Flank Rotating on the ball

Strengths:
Burst Speed over 15-80 meters
Winning Contested ground ball
Good Hands off the deck, quick hands
Clearance beast when "on"
Inside and Outside Game
Able to play above my size defensively
Line breaking when receiving the handball or running onto lose ball from half back

Weaknesses
Start games slowly
Endurance not great, but quick to recover when rested
Can't field kick for love nor money when on the mark, need to be moving.
Poor marking ability
Suck at tackling, too easily side stepped
Lack any semblance of lateral movement
Can be burnt over the back defensively due to playing a very attacking game style. Too loose as a pure defender.

mate with a body like that at 15, actually study the game a bit and you could go places...seems your relying on natural talent at the moment

I was an early developer, wouldn't expect myself to grow much more from where I am now. I have however been part of the Western Jets program previously, but I'm not expecting too much for myself in the future, there are a hell of a lot more talented blokes than myself.

Haha I understand where you are coming from but I simply don't have the talent required to reach that elite level. If I had that mindset and work ethic that some players have it might be a possibility but I unfortunately don't have that and I often rely on natural talent when I play, which I probably need to change pretty quickly.
 
you might as well give a crack and apply yourself then you never know what can happen...you can still make decent coin at a high standard of local level footy and you might be a late bloomer

I think you are overrating my talent a fair bit :p. I'm hoping to play at a high standard however, but I'm pretty doubtful about my chances of the AFL.
