That was all a take the piss thing from the fellas. i just couldn't understand why he wasn't getting a run at the time. Then he did and showed he was serviceable. He proved that.

Weeell... I said: "His form with Peel has been fairly inconsistent, he's been pretty patchy - what was the idea behind his selection? Was it to provide a bigger body for some protection for the young guys?"

(Had to be diplomatic...)

He said, "It's partly that, but even though he hasn't been getting the big numbers, his work around the stoppages has been good, and he's been able to sneak forward and kick a couple of goals, so the opportunity has come up for him and he's been rewarded."
