More info on Brad Ebert:
Ebo had a somewhat disappointing 2015 by his standards. Despite playing every game and averaging 23 disposals per game, his numbers were down on 2014 in most categories and his impact on games was often not at the level expected of a vice captain. Brad’s best games were early in the season - 34 disposals and a goal against Freo in round one, 22 disposals and 3 goals against North in round three and a dominant running display against Melbourne in Alice Springs. Ebo remains an important player but he will be looking to rebound strongly and produce his best football again in 2016.

The other Dynasty

BRAD Ebert sits in the same seat in the old stand at Alberton where he spent much of his childhood.

That is, when he was not following father Craig around or having a kick-and-catch with other kids.

He's back as a player now, after four years at West Coast, but as he takes in the view of the oval on a perfect spring day there's no time for reflection.

Great-uncle Peter Obst, a Magpie legend, is in his ear.

"You've just got to work your guts out," he counsels. "Go in hard for the ball and if you don't get it, stop some other bastard from getting it."

Grandfather Trevor, or "Bubbles" as he is better known, pipes up and it's on, the ribbing and banter that goes on in football families.

And this family is peerless in South Australian football and would challenge for the most decorated in the nation.

Between the Obsts and the Eberts - Brad's maternal and paternal bloodlines - there are more than 1300 games, six Magarey Medals, 21 premierships and eight Port Adelaide best and fairests.

Ebert makes giant strides with move to Port

BRAD Ebert has sent a strong message to his detractors - "I've still got a lot of improvement to come".

Port Adelaide's best player over its two NAB Cup openers, Ebert says he is hell-bent on proving himself as an elite midfielder after suffering the pain of being dropped from West Coast's finals side last year.

Controversially spurned by the Crows at the 2007 national draft, Ebert arrived at Alberton in October's trade period with question marks over his stoppage work and kicking but says he has made giant strides in both areas this off-season.

Re: Player Watch

According to Jonts, Brad Ebert talked at the St Johns Grammar Open Footy dinner launch night

Disucssed how WCE were great to him and how he really respects Priddis and Cox.

School footy is a vital link to do with development as a person and as a footy player.

Port has more of a "club" feel to it than West Coast.

Thinks that Port can win 8-12 games this year

Talked about how Port Adelaide was always his home and was always going to come back, and he is hoping he can get many of his mates over here.

Brad Ebert has won the 2012 Fos Williams medal and finished 2nd in the PAFC. He truly has come home. Well done Brad.

Ebert recognised with Fos Williams Medal

Brad Ebert has been announced as the winner of the Fos Williams Medal for Port Adelaide’s best team man, as voted by his Power teammates.

Ebert came home to Alberton after the completion of the 2011 season having been originally drafted to the West Coast Eagles in 2007.

Forming the backbone of the Power’s midfield through his playing every game of season 2012, his football lineage - drawn from the famous Port Adelaide Ebert and Obst families - seemingly positioned him for a strong season

Notes:
Bradleys first season at his true home Port Adelaide was a successful one. Not only did he play all 22 games at a high standard, he finished the year as runner up in the Best and Fairest whilst also becoming the 10th winner of the BigFooty Port Board Player of the Year. It was his high standard of output and consistency that made Brad a fantastic recruit and an instant onfield leader. His ability to win the ball in close, receive it wide and deliver with skill, go forward and kick a goal and also lay an important tackle made him an instant fan favourite and a player that will no doubt have a huge influence on the clubs success going forward.

Boak to lead new era at Port Adelaide

leadership_620X370.jpg

Travis Boak has been appointed captain of the Port Adelaide Football Club from the 2013 AFL season, with fellow midfielder Brad Ebert named vice-captain.

Boak takes up the role filled by Dom Cassisi for the past four seasons.

The 24-year-old – who served as vice-captain to Cassisi in 2012 after being appointed to the leadership group in 2011 – becomes the 69th captain in Port Adelaide’s history and its fifth at AFL level.

“It’s a great honour to be captain of this great club and have the opportunity to play a role that so many outstanding players have filled in the past,” Boak said.

I can not believe how bad this bloke is take away his vice-captain status and drop him he can not play. No matter what his last name is I wouldn't touch him with a 20 metre stick
