Strange country America, Trump is caught on tape bragging about how he sexually assaults women, and he's rewarded with the Presidency. A college football coach is forced to resign after he was found to have called a number associated with an escort.

How the hell does that work? So puritanical on one hand, and yet they have a President with morals of elastic.

It is very strange.
College sports are strange.
A college football coach is the highest paid publicly employed person in 39 of the 50 states of America. The head coaches from all the big schools make millions.

Meanwhile the players don't make a dime and get suspended for minor infractions (gifts, free services etc.)

Weird set-up.

I think "morals of elastic" is stretching it a bit.

Older people tend to be more right wing, so one could argue that people who have wisdom and life experience (having dealt with mortgages, kids, etc) are more likely to know how to make good decisions for their country than an unemployed 22 year old with a gender studies degree. But hey.

This attitude is exactly the reason why guys like Corbyn/Sanders get such traction with young voters. The attitude of "we're older and know better so just shut the * up and accept your crumbs".

The current political/economic system based on neo liberal ideology has just completely dismissed young people and thrown them under a bus. So yes maybe old right wingers vote best for what is in their own interests but rarely for what is in the best interests of society as a whole.

Almost every progressive movement for the better has come from younger generations rallying against the status quo to change the system.

So now we are on to phase two?
Let me take you back a few posts, you posted a link to a site that stated: You should be skeptical of any information on FinanceTwitter, because it may be wrong.
I didn't bother going any further and now you ask a stupied question when it is quite clear that I don't, especially if I am pre-warned not to?

It's ok. I know you would rather speak about things that you're comfortable with.
Any effort to see a view or a claim and the need to research it openly is a bridge too far.

Isn't that what you are asking people to do by reading opinion pieces?

No, if you had done more reading before rushing to make a funny, I was saying that there are definitely valid points that need to be researched.

No, old people don't give a s**t about the future, they are more interested in protecting their immediate future and wealth.
Hey, I am in that group and I do give a s**t especially for the world my grand-kids and their kids will inherit.

So heathcare is a fail and Obamacare's still here, ISIS is still here, the wall isn't gonna be built, Hillary isn't in a cell, what other campaign promises broken?
He hasn't initiated a new investigation into 9/11. Let's be honest, it won't happen

Or self interest in that the policies of the "right" give them more benefits. I certainly vote for self interest

In your opinion about bolts opinion piece. I do not see any definite facts in either. In absence of facts there is nothing to research.

It probably has got to a point where if bolt was to post facts they would be dismissed as opinion. I suppose it is the price you pay for being opinion based media.

Six months in office today and Trump is the worst President in 70 years, an approval rating of 36%.

What a great record to own. #MAGA LOL

None of you think people care about their kids/grandkids? Most parents I know would put their child's interest ahead of their own 10 times out of 10.
