We would work something around your first pick and Francis.

Seriously we don’t know. There’s more support for Billy than there is for Ken over here. Billy gets a decent run we think he's going to be a really useful forward. Just not a trade we want to see happen.

If Francis does want out of Victoria it could be something built around him?

We lost against the Pies before the game began; at the selection table! Ironically a defender of Billy’s size is exactly what we needed to counter the height of Cox, Cameron, McStay and Mihocek. We don’t have a gorilla full back… but Clurey, Finlayson, Lord or Pasini would have been better than going in without a McKenzie replacement! Boak as a sub was also a confusing selection choice! We were absolutely killed aerially! Aliir is an attacking defender and we lost a key weapon by trying to play him as a lockdown defender!

At a minimum:
Out: Bergman, Fantasia, Burgoyne
In: Clurey, Finlayson, Boak

We probably still would have lost but not by that much! Jonas and Burton are not key defenders! We can’t beat the top teams without Aliir zoning off and spoiling/marking/rebounding. Him being freed up to do this would have completely changed the game. Blind Freddy could see we were way too short down back!

Jonas is a liability and past it. Slow plodder offering zero rebound with poor skills. If Hinkley had any idea Jonas does not play next week at a minimum.

Out Jonas before Bergman
 
We lost with a minus 50 diff in clearances, mids smashed, pointless to drop peripheral players or blame backs. If you dont come close to breaking even , your always going to struggle. Why is the question, young soft mids, poor coaching, overblown egos from last week, who knows. Melb were crap last night and lions looked good in the middle after being crap against us, all in the head I suppose.
Brought back to earth with a big thud.
 
I reckon Collingwood would've watched his Ballarat game in the back line for Adelaide & thought he'd fit in with their style.

He'll never be a great one on one defender but they don't want that from him.

He played his role. Didn’t even really have to beat his direct opponent, just create a contest. If only our coaches had this mindset.
 
Billy Frampton could well be an AFL premiership season player by end of September, if Collingwood keep playing the same way and same success.
