More info on Patrick Ryder:
Paddy was our big name recruit for season 2015, coming to us from Essendon after several years under the cloud of an ASADA drugs investigation. As a result, he was unable to take part in the pre season trial matches and was only cleared from his provisional suspension a few days prior to our round one game against Fremantle, a game he ended up playing as sole ruck in despite a lack of preparation. Initially, the intention was to play Ryder as a forward, going into the ruck to relieve Lobbe when required. He was able to kick three goals in both Showdowns and turned in a memorable four goal haul to be influential in a win against his former team Essendon. However, it wasn’t until Lobbe was dropped and Ryder took up the number one ruck position that he was truly able to show us what he is capable of - a dominant display against the Hawks providing a tantalising glimpse of what we may have to look forward to. Unfortunately, Paddy’s future is still subject to a WADA appeal to the CAS, something that will hopefully be resolved in his favour sooner rather than later.

I've always thought Ryder was a brilliant player but a little inconsistent .really though as a tall forward / ruckman he should be just about in his prime , we've got him at a great time . He'll free up Westhoff big time , just imagine Ryder , Shultz and Westhoff in the forward 50 in clutch moments when we need to pinch back a couple of goals when teams get a run against us . He's a brilliant get and can help us enhance our community club feel with some more exposure in the indigenous community .
Once again off field team kicking goals
