Zac Dawson has retired but will play out the season.

166 game player whom played in 4 Grand Finals whom was a much maligned defensive stopper with 3 clubs.

The 4th person in history to play 60+ games at 2 different clubs with the same coach.

Congrats on a great career Zac!

Always thought he was harshly rated by the media, social and so-called experts.

Solid defender, solid kick...less than solid decision maker though.

Not the greatest career but considering how easy it would have been for him to give it away early he can walk away proud.

Find it amusing how many people dig the boots in to a bloke who has survived in the AFL system for 10 years, played over 150 games, played in 4 grand finals, and was obviously a good player.

I wonder how many people can put their hands up and say 'I did that'. A guy has retired, don't stick the boots in to him. There is so much emphasis on Brownlow medals, premierships, club best and fairest awards etc, don't forget that it's not easy to make an AFL list, play 50 games let alone 166, and be part of some very successful sides were competition would've been rife.
