Does Chism predict drafts well?

  • Only when he's the only drafter

  • Not well, son, but better than Lenny

  • Better than Fuey, and way better than GG - but they are two low bars...

Would anyone be interested in me writing up a 'power rankings' each week? I've already started playing around with power ranking stats because that kind of stuff just gets me going. Was thinking I could post them up after each week with a small paragraph about each team. Could just add a bit of entertainment.
Fire away.

As long as fuey and Southerntakeover are at the bottom of the rankings everyone will be happy and truth will be told each week...

Look mate, if you don't stop tagging me in this worthless thread s**t's about to get real around here.
Real? Unlike the drafter that was impersonating you? Eh Southerntakeover ??

If only someone would tell me who the real drafter was so I could tag them instead of you...

I promise to be completely unbias. Spoiler alert: i'm top of the week 1 power rankings.
Also i'm going by the team names and as such i can't match up every team to which poster they are.

Here's a hint: Southerntakeover is who he says he is, as is fuey #fueytryhardwannabe (#bonnieinflatedttattiestatooiesrottens). Conversely, BpG has been possessed by GG.exe and @Blacy and Brasher , who are responsible for his cruddy picks and selections.

  1. Gurley Boys (1-0)
It was a strong week 1 performance from the Boys despite a below average score from starting QB Russel Wilson (8.3) and missing out on a huge day by Kareem Hunt (43.1) with him unfortunately benched. However it was a consistent game from most starters and the difference being the late free agent pick up of the Rams D/ST (33).
  2. Local Knowledge (1-0)
A large win and high score placed Local Knowledge second on the power rankings for week 1. The win could have been much larger had 24 potential fantasy points not been left on the bench. Despite that, strong games from Derek Carr (22.7) and the Jaguars D (39) jacked the score up to the 2nd highest of the week. They will look to improve even more with Mike Evans coming off the bye in week 2.
  3. BpG's Vandals (1-0)
Citing a terrible draft, possibly by others on his behalf, BpG had an extremely strong week and held on for the win in a high scoring affair. Even with Gronkowski held to just 4.3 points and copping a goose egg from Janikowski The Vadals put up the 3rd highest score of the week. With strong performances from Antonio Brown (23.7) and the Eagles D (27) and with a lot of production available on the bench the Vandals are in a prime position.
  4. Denver Donkeys (0-1)
Even though the Donkeys took a narrow loss they would have beaten 6 out of 9 teams in week 1 which is one of the reasons I have them ranked 4th this week. The loss could have been a win had they started Philip Rivers (23.7) over Cam Newton (17.1). But a strong debut from Lenny Fournette (19.9) will have the Donkeys feeling good.
  5. Kadog Pound (0-1)
Another team that suffered a loss in week 1 yet find themselves in the top half of the power rankings. The Kadogs were the only team to field a perfect side and scored the 5th highest amount of points. A huge week from Matt Stafford (35.1) got them off to a strong start but they were let down by below average performances at RB, WR1 and TE. With Odell Beckham to come into the side they are poised to see an uptick in points in week 2.
  6. Honey I'm Home (1-0)
The Honey's made it Home by the slimmest of margins, holding on by a bees dick. They were boosted by news of Ezekiel Elliott (16.5) stalling his suspension. With Elliott free to play for an indefinite period of time Balmain could have the strongest RB's in the league with Le'Veon Bell (6.2) certain to improve on his first week back.
  7. Hammerhead Sharks (0-1)
It was a tough week for the Sharks coming up against the 2nd highest scoring team of the week. Despite a few questionable coaching decisions (Prescott, Pryor and Riddick all benched) they would have outscored nearly 50% of the league.
  8. The Bonnie Rottens (1-0)
Due to popular demand Fuey's squad were placed bottom 3 in the power rankings. But in reality it was still a winning week for the Rottens, even if they did just edge out the lowest scoring team by 2.7 points. A down week from Tom Brady (10.3) and an unexplicable 0 by Hunter Henry was compounded by the second most points left on the bench in week 1.
  9. Team Karag (0-1)
Things could have been so much different for Karag and his team had 2 more yards been gained by any of his players. There were a lot of points left on the bench but the potential is there for a vastly improved week 2. Carson Wentz (22.9) and LeSean McCoy (18.4) were the top performers.
  10. Chevys Chasers (0-1)
Not a lot went right for Chevy this week. The team is quite weak at RB and will need to address that perhaps at the cost of a deep WR corps. A fluke score from Austin Hoopah (19.8) could have smoothed over a rough week had he not been benched. Chevy will also need more out of Aaron Rodgers in week 2 who was taken 3rd overall.

Week 2 Power Rankings

  1. Local Knowledge (2-0)
A narrow win over last weeks highest scoring team catapults the Locals up to number 1 for week 2. Derek Carr (27.2) continued his strong form and Devonta Freeman added the death blow with 23 points late on Monday. Mike Evans (18.8) coming off the bye proved highly beneficial considering last weeks top scoring D, the Jags, popped out a goose egg this week.
  2. Gurley Boys (1-1)
For the second straight week The Boys left the most points on the bench and it cost them a potential win over division rivals Local Knowledge. They will need to improve at the WR position moving forward, only scoring 14.5 points at that position this week. A matchup against the struggling Chevys Chasers awaits them Week 3.
  3. Kadog Pound (1-1)
It was the first win of the year for Kadog and it came in emphatic fashion. The team is deep at all positions and if they continue to make the right personnel decisions, as they have in both weeks so far, we should see a continuation of this strong form. Look out for OBJ to still come into the side.
  4. BpG's Vandals (1-1)
One of the better teams in week 1 had the 3rd worst record this round. Rob Gronkowski (20.3) played himself into form but the rest of the team played below expectations. The issue could be a lack of a true RB1 and if Dalvin Cook or Mark Ingram aren't the answer this team could continue to fall down the rankings.
  5. Hammerhead Sharks (1-1)
A massive turn around from week 1, thanks largely in part to Michael Crabtree (29), saw the Sharks grab their first win of the season. Despite missing a load of points on the bench week 1 the coach made no changes and was repayed with the second highest weekly score. Greg Olsen suffered a serious injury and will need to be replaced.
  6. Denver Donkeys (0-2)
Another narrow loss for the Donkeys really hurts and they will find themselves dropping the rankings if they keep Philip Rivers on the bench, just kidding Cam Newton will get played into form against the Saints next week. Jordy Nelson suffering an early injury and going scoreless was a big blow too. It could be panic stations if they can't produce a win against the undefeated Bonnie Rottens in week 3.
  7. The Bonnie Rottens (2-0)
Undefeated and still ranked 7th overall for the team everyone loves to hate. The highest score of the week pushed them up a spot though and things will continue to trend that way if Tom Brady (36.8) and Ty Montgomery (26) bring their strong form into week 3. Losing David Johnson for the season hurts but The Rottens have strong depth at RB.
  8. Honey I'm Home (1-1)
It was a harsh reality check for the Honey boys after sneaking in for a 0.1 win in Week 1. Le'Veon Bell (11.1) continues to struggle and Ezekiel Elliott (4.2) had an off week. A tough match up against the top ranked Local Knowledge awaits them in week 3 and they will need to bring their A game.
  9. Team Karag (1-1)
After the heartbreaking loss in Week 1 Karag managed to grab their first win of the season. Carson Wentz (28.8) was their highest scorer but it remains to be seen whether he can be a reliable season long answer at QB with Sam Bradford nursing an injured knee. A lot of points were left on the bench and smarter decisions must be made to ensure they keep up with the pack.
  10. Chevys Chasers (0-2)
Chevy once again sitting at the bottom of the rankings with the lowest score for the second week running. The issues at RB were not fixed and that will restrict them from competing with a tough opponent in Week 3. Austin Hooper (1.7) did not repeat his massive week 1 score however Aaron Rodgers (22.5) put up some decent numbers but it is far from enough for the team that coughed up pick 3 for him.

The team everyone loves to hate??

Considering I don't have ya $$$ yet, you should probably be a bit nicer :p Chism

anyway... 2-0, both Packer fans. Just sayin

and balmainforever needs to pick up his act

The ol' Fu goes to 3-0, thanks Tommy B.

Gurley Boys thump the Chasers, though score will look a bit more respectable tomorrow.

Reigning champs move to 2-1

BPG shocking himself, by having a good team for once.

Balmain and Shiny the only game still up for grabs in what I term the 'Battle to be #2' Will probably end in a draw. Fitz and Zeke to come for the Homies.

Week 3 Power Rankings

  1. Gurley Boys (2-1)
As close to a perfect week that you are likely to see this season. 158.8 points in total, is the highest so far and was only 2 points off the maximum possible score. Kareem Hunt and Todd Gurley continue to be the driving force behind this team and are currently ranked the number 1 & 2 RB's. Russell Wilson (41.6) and AJ Green (22.5) both broke out of their slump and put up some strong numbers.
  2. Local Knowledge (2-1)
It was the first loss of the season and to a division rival too. All but 1 team in the Fat Cats division have won 2 games and wins will be worth their weight in gold come seasons end. Derek Carr was out of sorts and only posted 7.2. Up next is another division rival, Team Karag, who will be looking to push up to equal footing.
  3. BpG's Vandals (2-1)
Back up into 3rd position after a poor Week 2, the Vandals played well in a high scoring match. The team will be pleased with Dalvin Cook (25.4) and are likely lean to on him to produce big scores season long. Brown, Cooks and Gronkowski all performed well and form one of the better receiving corps in the league.
  4. Kadog Pound (2-1)
2 wins in a row now for the reigning champs. They have been consistently scoring an average of just under 100 points per games, which sees them only 6th in that category. This was the first week Kadog left more than 13 points on the bench and could have added an extra 35.7 points with a perfect lineup. Odell Beckham got his first start of the season and scored an excellent 24.4 fantasy points.
  5. Hammerhead Sharks (1-2)
As was the case in Week 1, the Sharks were the 5th highest scoring team but unfortunately came up against the 2nd highest scorer of the round and took their second loss of the season. But it isn't time to panic yet as Kirk Cousins (32.8), Michael Thomas (18.2) and McCaffrey (16.2) all had their best games of the year.
  6. The Bonnie Rottens (3-0)
The only team to remain undefeated but are still low on the power rankings due to their poor Week 1 score and the inability to field their best squad. The Rottens have left more points on the bench than any other team this season. However, if things continue to improve we will no doubt see Fuey and his boys continue their climp up the rankings. Tom Brady (45.7) has found his groove after a slow start and is by far the best QB in fantasy this season.
  7. Honey I'm Home (2-1)
After the disaster that was Week 2, the Honey's were up against the undefeated Local Knowledge. After trailing by 20 points at the close of play Monday, a huge game from Larry Fitzgerald (27.4) and Ezekiel Elliott (16.9) put them in a winning position and they prevailed by over 20 points. The tough schedule continues in Week 4 with a clash against the Gurley Boys likely to be one of the games of the week.
  8. Denver Donkeys (0-3)
When Cam Newton is widely considered to be the No. 1 QB of the week and delivers a measly 8.3 you know things are going to be bad. Luckily for the Donkeys they own two other capable quarterbacks with Cam being borderline droppable. The team made a smart addition to the team adding Washington's Chris Thompson (27.8), just a shame he was left on the bench. The team has some underperforming players right now and they'll need to turn it around next week and start putting up some W's or the season could start to get away from them.
  9. Team Karag (1-2)
This team is missing a true superstar, a real stud you can rely on for 20+ points a week. LeSean McCoy has been underwhelming this season and is yet to score a TD and the two top WR's (Jeffrey and D. Thomas) have only 1 between them in 3 games so far. Chris Hogan (20.8) had 2 TD's this week but was not in the lineup, and regardless he is unlikely to be this good on a consistent basis. The team may need to look at trading aggressively if they are any chance of challenging this season.
  10. Chevys Chasers (0-3)
Another really tough week for the Chasers. They are living up to their name and have been constantly chasing their opposition. The team did try to make some improvements, adding 2 running backs and 1 tight end off the waiver wire but it did not help in the end as the only one to play, CJ2K, put up a meagre 2.7. Aaron Rodgers (30.8) again was their best player and Jordan Howard (28.9) was excellent despite an injury concern. It made for tough reading after that though with the rest of the team adding only 10.6 more fantasy points combined. The Chevys could find themselves 0-4 with a Week 4 matchup against 3rd ranked BpG's Vandals.
