Yeah that comment, none of the other s**t he says

That is really unreasonable.

He said he likes taco's. With extra cheese.

Now that is something we can all get behind surely?

I've already posted my fun fact of the day, this is just a random pointless statistic.

Goals from 2014-2017, current and former mid-tall forwards:

Lance Franklin - 280 (89 games)
Kurt Tippett - 102 (62 games)
Tim Membrey - 91 (50 games)
Jesse White - 75 (56 games)
Gary Rohan - 66 (68 games)
Sam Reid - 63 (64 games)

So Franklin is our only forward who averages more than 2 goals/game.

Wonder how that compares across the comp.

Well this year the following teams had 2 or more players with 2+ goals per game

Drug Cheats
Melbourne
Port Adelaide
Greater Western Sydney
Geelong
Adelaide
Richmond (sort of - includes Townsend who only played the last part of the year, but that was the toughest games including finals so rated a mention)
Norf

Since you asked, I went and did further digging in the war room. After Franklin, our 2nd leading goalscorer was Papley with 1.5 per game, so here's how that stacks up

West Coast had Kennedy, Darling, LeCras with 1.5+ per game
Richmond had Riewoldt, Martin, Townsend
Norf had Brown, Waite
Drug Cheats had Daniher, Hooker, McDonald, Fantasia
GWS had Cameron, Greene, Patton
Adelaide had Walker, Betts, McGovern, Jenkins
Port had Gray, Dixon
Geelong had Hawkins, Menzel, Dangerfield
Gold Coast had Lynch, Matera
Collingwood had Elliott, Fasolo
Melbourne had Garlett, Hogan
St Kilda had Membrey, Bruce, Riewoldt
Hawthorn had Roughead, Breust
Bulldogs had Redpath, Stringer
Brisbane had Zorko, Hipwood
Carlton had Casboult
Fremantle had none

Reid has a premiership medal, please make adjustment to calculations according to standard perception adjustment

Where were we ranked in team goals per game?

Sorry. Here are the recent premiership CHFs ranked by the same metric:

Lance Franklin - 280 (89 games)
Tom Hawkins - 220 (88 games)
Jarryd Roughead - 163 (69 games)
Travis Cloke - 101 (60 games)
Dustin Martin - 97 (92 games)
Sam Reid - 63 (64 games)
Ryan Schoenmakers - 37 (48 games)
Zaine Cordy - 8 (30 games)

Where were we ranked in team goals per game?
Equal 4th, behind Adelaide/Port Adelaide/Drug Cheats and tied with Melbourne and Geelong

Reid the only true (champion) swingman in that group... Would love to know goal per time in fwd 50/playing fwd. Rough & Dusty both thrown into the middle a fair bit too actually...

Cool.

I thought we may have been one of the lower scoring teams which might explain our low averages but nah we were pretty decent.

So we kick plenty of goals via fewer reliable avenues?

Sounds like we'd be number one on the predictability scale.

A solid team defence is what ultimately wins premierships.
When that fails everything including attack fails.

Do you honestly think our defence lost us the last flag shots we have had?

Yes I saw the useless qualifier of "team" - that just makes the defence part useless if you want to run with that argument.

Excellent as usual - thanks.

Two things;

1. I really want to come visit the war room. Does it have ice cream? And bacon? Bacon cooked on the flash suppressor of an AR-15 in the war room would be sooooo good.

2. You spelled Fantasia wrong. It is OOOOORAAAAAAAAAAAAAZZZZZZZIOOOOOO FANTASIAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!
