Has anyone tried Optus internet?

Researching some plans for a place in Melbourne I'll be living in next year. For $60 per month and no lock in contract, I can get unlimited data and up to 25/Mbps, which isn't too bad.

However in Tassie, Optus isn't s**t and Telstra is king, so I'm a bit weary. Anyone had good/bad experiences with Optus as an internet provider?

For what its worth, Netflix stats show Optus customers average faster downloads from their servers than any other ISP.

Been pretty good for my mum (and me when I was there) since 2001. That's Optus Cable anyway. Not sure about the other varieties.

Which is the same as ADSL at best and can be Slower then ADSL.

They can have Shocking Speeds during Peak-Time.

Plus they are Getting Taken to Court for Lying about there Internet Speeds

I would say look elsewhere as you should be able to get better then That

It depends on the area, outer burbs stick with Telstra.
