CCTV footage has been released showing a youth kicking a police officer in the face during a chaotic arrest at a Melbourne shopping centre.

An officer was crouching on the ground while attempting to arrest a 16-year-old boy for alleged shoplifting at Highpoint Shopping Centre in Maribyrnong on Tuesday afternoon when another boy ran up and kicked him in the face.

He was held back by another boy before they both ran off.

Francis told tens of thousands of Roman Catholics gathered below that some Christians prefer to live while indifferent to Jesus.

"Instead of conducting themselves in coherence with their own Christian faith, they follow the principles of the world, which lead to satisfying the inclinations toward arrogance, the thirst for power and for riches," Francis said.

"To do good without counting the cost, even when unasked, even when you gain nothing thereby, even if it is unpleasant: That is what God wants," he said.

I think that tweet is trying to imply that the Democratic party wants DACA, because the "illegal aliens" will vote for them.

Having now read the actual memo, it's about saying that if they don't start fighting for the people who cannot fight for themselves (which is what they believe they are known and supported for) then they will no longer get the support from the public as they will be too similar to the Republicans.

'If we do nothing, then we are no better than those we stand against' kind of situation.

What was your take from the memo?

"Not only a moral imperative"

meh, Blair used to talk crap like that re Iraq.

The Dems have long been trying desperately to gerrymander elections via immigration just as the ALP in oz and Labour has in the UK (Tories only get circa 20% of the ethnic vote).

Let illegal immigrants in, then family reunion and voila lots of ALP voters. To anyone who points out what a grubby and distasteful exercise this is, scream racism.

I don't doubt there is a lot of that cynicism in the various parties.

PETA calls for memorial at North Geelong chicken truck crash site
ANIMAL welfare activists are calling for a memorial to be built at the site of Monday’s chicken truck rollover where a driver failed to navigate a notorious bend, crushing thousands of chickens at North Geelong.

Spokeswoman Emily Rice said the tribute aimed to encourage drivers to travel safely and think about the fate of all road users.

“The tribute would feature an image of a chicken next to the words `In Memory of the Chickens Who Suffered and Died at This Spot. Try Vegan’ and would remind all drivers, including those with animals on board, to travel safely,” she said.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/ukn...K-more-multicultural-says-former-adviser.html

The huge increases in migrants over the last decade were partly due to a politically motivated attempt by ministers to radically change the country and "rub the Right's nose in diversity", according to Andrew Neather, a former adviser to Tony Blair, Jack Straw and David Blunkett.

He said Labour's relaxation of controls was a deliberate plan to "open up the UK to mass migration" but that ministers were nervous and reluctant to discuss such a move publicly for fear it would alienate its "core working class vote".

silly little boy. How do you think Labour won a seat like Kensington? How did a defender of terror suspects get to be Mayor?

Back to your macrame.

a) we were talking about the UK/ London
b) the ALP is the Australian Labor Party
c) anyone with an IQ north of 80 would therefore deduct use of Labour referred to the UK

Family of bashed Australian Open tourists speak of horror
The daughter of a highly acclaimed US doctor who was viciously bashed by a gang of youths alongside his teenage son after leaving the Australian Open says her family are in shock.

Physician Edmund Pribitkin, 52, was put in an induced coma with serious head injuries and his son Edik, 17, concussed with a broken nose after the violent alleged robbery at the Queen Victoria Gardens about 11.30pm on Wednesday.

"It’s horrible because I think this is going to be something that we will affiliate with the Australian Open for a while."

Welcome to Melbourne, the world's most criminal city.

Finally something for the LGT^&*GDGHNJKBI (whatever) crew and all people to get angry about.

Indonesia: Transgender women in Aceh detained by police

By BBC Indonesian

Police in Indonesia have detained 12 transgender women, cutting their long hair and saying they were "coaching" them to behave like "real men".

Several beauty salons in Aceh province were raided over the weekend and transgender women working there taken to the local police station.

The transgender women, who were also forced to wear men's clothes, will be held for three days.

Aceh is the only province in Indonesia that has strict Islamic religious law.

The move has been condemned by human rights groups.

Transgender women are known locally as waria, a word that combines the Indonesian words for men and women.

Local Police Chief Ahmad Untung Surianata told the BBC: "We are holding them for three days to give them counselling and coaching. It's going well and now they are all acting like real men."

While on the phone to the BBC, he yelled at the transgender women: "Are you still waria now?"

They replied quietly, sounding clearly under pressure, that they were not.
