Collingwood

Treloar. Howe. Moore. Three of Collingwood’s biggest names will return from injury when the Magpies take on the Western Bulldogs in Moe this Saturday.

The trio is part of six additions to Collingwood’s squad, with Jarryd Blair and Sam Murray also in line to play their first games of the new year.

Howe (calf) and Moore (Achillies) made their return from injury in last week’s VFL intra-club match and passed the test without issue.

Blair and Murray, meanwhile, performed well and have put their hands up for a senior birth.

Murray, 20, was received via a trade from the Sydney Swans last October. He has not yet played senior football, but made the NEAFL Team of the Year as a running defender in 2017.

Western Bulldogs

The Western Bulldogs have made one change to their squad ahead of Saturday’s JLT Community Series clash with Collingwood, with Billy Gowers set to replace defender Shane Biggs who’ll miss with a back spasm.

The 26-year-old Biggs will be assessed with the view to resume full training in the coming days.

The Dogs this week will be led by defensive coach Steven King, who said he’s excited to take the reins for the first time.

What have the Pies shown you over the past few seasons to make you think they could get to 6th spot on the ladder?
I think their list is better than what it may appear due to poor coaching by Buckley. In the past he hasn't had the right gamestyle to suit his troops. (Richmind had the same problem prior to last season)

Comp is so even now there is not a lot of difference between winning say 7 games and winning 13. Hence I'm interested to see if Buckley has changed their game style during the off season.

Fair few narrow losses last year, competitive bar a few weeks slip mid-year, with Pendlebury/Reid/De Goey/Wells/Elliott missing in some close losses. Not a bad draw on paper either. Think they'll struggle to make the 8 myself but 6th is possible.

Garry bloody Lyon commentating on foxtel. Suddenly dermott has some competition for biggest know it all know nothing wank stain.
At least Dermie has credits in the bank...with Lyon it's all fantasy.

Collingwood going for goal is so painful to watch.

They are in no mans land at the moment. Never expected them to fall away this badly as a club after the 2011 grand final.
