The Lions I agree with, but that was 18 years ago that began, no free agency and nowhere near the $ available now.

The Hawks actually prove my point, you do realise A LOT of their success relied upon players from other clubs right...
Burgoyne
Hale
Lake
Frawley
McEvoy
Gibson
Guerra
Gunston
Spangher

All premiership players from their 3 peat recruited from other clubs. Yes their other players like Hodge, Mitchell, Roughy etc all stayed for less money, but even that couldn't keep buddy at the club...

The Hawks also prove the point that a lot of teams have been given a helping hand.
Hawks got priority picks in 2004 (#2 overall) and 2005 (#3 overall).

No priority pick in 2004, would have had to choose b/w Buddy and Roughead. Only 1 of those players, then no flag in 2008.

Pretty sure the 2008 flag and the presence of both Buddy and Roughead helped make the Hawks good enough to attract fairly priced free agents from other clubs.

Alex Jesaulenko came from the ACT, as did James Hird. Phil Davis and Josh Bruce are among top current players from ACT.

My point is that you would do better to show figures from the ACT in order to highlight other States and the NT in comparison. I suspect these figures include ACT's figures in NSW, which is an unfair representation since NSW actually has the lowest ratio of players per population and ACT may, in fact, have a fairly good ratio.

Tasmania just went undefeated in the Academy Series. They will have plenty of players in this year's Allies squad.
All i was doing was using the AFL Stats Pro data
Phil Davis is Listed as SA (http://www.afl.com.au/stats/stats-pro#/discover/CD_I280804/Davis-Phil) St Peters College/North Adelaide
Bruce is listed as Eastlake/Giants Zone and included in NSW data above
The only other current player that i know off the top of my head that is Definitely from ACT is Jack Steele from Belconnen (again listed as NSW/Giants Academy)
No doubt there are more but without checking player by player I don't think there's anywhere to get the answer easily. The AFL stats pro, when sorted for players from ACT (which is a checkbox) lists zero results.

Aaron Vandenberg (Melbourne) was recruited from Canberra's Ainslie NEAFL club - but not sure of his background though - maybe originally from WA ?

Been hearing lynch is in Melbourne discussing his future by Melb media but low and behold I saw him or his twin in Nobbys tonight .

On iPhone using BigFooty.com mobile app
Surely his trip back from Melbourne to this magnificent weather is enough for him to stay.
I was in Melbourne last week for 2 days and couldn't wait to get back. It was freezing and I didn't feel or see the sun once in the whole 48 hours.

Gotta leave the Casino and strip clubs to actually see the sun:D

We should encourage Tom to spend as much time in Melbourne as possible.
- There's an extra million people here since he left.
- roads and trains are clogged.
- crime has doubled
- house prices doubled
I'd take a pay cut to move to GC if it was possible with work.

I still believe that TLynch might actually have a pair of Kahuna’s and be up for the challenge of being a Pioneer unlike those weak sop bedwetters like O’Meara, Caddy, Prestia and Co that took the soft option.
I think he has character.
Hope your right Mr Bods.
Unfortunately loyalty in AFL from both Club and Player disappeared long ago
Most important things today are
1 SHOW ME THE MONEY (fact of life in most occupations today)
and / or
2 SHOW ME SUCCESS
We can guarantee the first but the stumbling block will be proving the second.
One thing that might help us is Tom,s a quiet down to earth guy who may not like the thought
of continually being hounded by the Melb press and hostile supporters.
I reckon if doesn't sign in next 4 weeks all over red rover.
Hoping for the best

Premiership players you mean ;)

I believe he was in melbourne for his sisters 21st Birthday party

The next month is key. If he is still unsigned by the time July rolls around then that’s it for him at the Suns I think.
Not necessarily. Hope not anyway. Didn’t Dusty leave it until the end of the year. I think Tom’s heart wants to stay but his head is still undecided. How we go in the second half of the season may still have a big part to play in his decision.

I think he would be mad to return to Melbourne. It’s the complete shithole.
I have to stay because of work but I’m always up on the Gold Coast...hopefully one day I can make the move, maybe same time as Bellamy and start supporting the broncos..
